If someone can't tell the Mach 1 front end from an original S550 or the refresh, they need a better prescription. Functional vents, refresh hood and lights, faux inlets, different lower section, the decal on the hood. I immediately can tell a Mach 1 at highway speeds from the back end because of the tips and valence. It is nothing like either a refresh or orig S550...especially the orig S550 as that had that body color valence.

You know your Mach 1 well and can spot the difference in the details between your's and other Mustangs. Just like I can spot the difference between the PP2 and other Mustangs, but most people can't. I hate that your feelings got hurt, but that's just the way it is.

I've been reading every reply to this thread and just want to say that I prefer the look of a PP2 (sans the optional "racing" stripe Ford puts on some of them), but would also prefer the Tremec over the MT-82. Even a non-HP Mach1 goes for $10k more than a PP2, mileage being equal, so I'm not sure which direction to go.

You really need to drive both before making a decision, they are very different experiences.

If I didn't already have a PP2 I would pick a Mach 1. Preferably a HP, simply because I have always wanted a Mach 1 since 1969 and the HP is top of the pack without going Shelby.
I already had a paid off PP2 when I test drove a Mach 1 at my dealer that just came off the truck, and it had the Tremec. I really couldn't tell much difference between the PP2 and the Mach 1, especially in the transmissions. Now the Tremec was brand new and my MT-82 is broke in, so there is that, but it didn't make sense to trade cars and go into dept for a name when the performance was basically the same. Any difference in performance was splitten hair close.
If it's a street car, you will be happy with either one. Now if you're a little sensitive and can't put up with hearing Mach 1 owners trying to tell you that a PP2 is just a PP with bigger tires then spend the extra money and get the Mach 1.
If you're going to track it get the Mach 1.

10k difference is money for a lot of extra boost, just saying.

And if you get a magneride PP1, Steeda sells a recalibrated MR control module and the mapping is better than any stock ford module ever was.
There seems to be very limited information and experiences with the Steeda tuned DSC Sport Controller. As someone on GT500/Mach1 magneride dampers + FP springs on PP1 MR controller, I'm very interested to hear more about it if you could share.

I know it exists, that's about all I know about it.

I'd avoid it and just get a regular DSC that you and others can tune. I was very intrigued and asked a lot of questions from those that have it. I really wanted to hear great feedback because I didn't want to have to learn the system with my other obligations, but the only positive feedback I got was from casual users or those that made a lot of changes at the same time. For instance a lot of the ones raving on facebook I saw their underhood pics and their struts were centered in the openings (aka factory alignment, little negative camber)-so how are they pushing the car hard enough to give good feedback? If they're running that poor of an alignment they probably don't know what they are talking about. These are the same folks that make blanket statements and add the dual rate handling springs and rave how amazing the improvement is, but have never really taken a turn in anger off the street. I've seen a few here on Mustang6g that are hard users and didn't like it. There's more than a few people that can tune the DSC if you need help, but the most serious people are going with coilovers like MCS.
