Do you one better, I left the stock nuts and added Lug Covers. Dont ahve to worry about the black scratching and chipping(which will happen)

The other reason behind going to new lugs is to get rid of the crappy 2-piece stock versions.

I've never had Mcgards do this to me. I've read about Gorilla lug nuts doing this though.

I have plastic nut covers on the daily :

They look OK from a passing glance, which is the most that the daily probably gets.

I had plastic nut covers on the Mustang :

They are OK if you just want to hide the silver, but not OK if you want to get rid of the stock two piece nuts or if you want them to look good upon close inspection.

IMHO and excluding cost, plastic was not a good long term option for me on the mustang - it was just a temporary measure until my 2020 Christmas presents arrived from family :

We'll see. My problem with the flower-type McGard locking nut that you seem to have in the photo is that the key fell apart once for me, they replaced it for free but it took some time. The McGard key that comes with the car is definitely better design. Gorilla locking nuts won't be a problem either.

The main reason why I decided to replace the nuts on my Mach 1 (once it arrives ) was the video showing how the OEM nuts Ford uses got swollen to the point it was almost impossible to remove them.

My only concern with the gorilla ones and the smaller profile spline is that the mating surface of those lug boys looks nothing like the Ford oem lugs. The gorilla ones are just like this cone shaped. Have a feeling over time they would ruin the holes of the wheel

CJ wouldn't ship the FP oil separator to CA, so I don't order from them anymore.

ship it to someone you trust out of state and then they can re ship to you. It s not a heavy item.

I had a set of spline low profile and were not big enough, they would sit inside the whole a bit actually, then the big gorilla one i compared to the stock and it is just a bigger cone shape maybe it's me but I'll keep the stock ones. I know people say they "fall apart"...so far mine look as the day I picked the car up.
