There is no point, just a funny remark. It's about choice and we can be glad to have it (PP2, Bullitt, GT350 didn't offer this choice at all). When you see zero reason for automatic, others can see plenty of reasons, and vice versa, everyone should use what he likes most, end of story.

You have to explain better how you are using a Canadian corporation to buy the car and then sell it to the end client in the US (from what I gather from your post, you are basically using a shell corporation). It is also my understanding that Canadian dealers are subject to restrictive allocations for M1 orders.
What are you worried about? Just send a stranger a cashiers check and wait patiently for your car that you tried to purchase likely by skirting around import laws. Seems perfectly safe and has no chance of costing you a lot of money and grief
An svo model would be pretty neat. Although for much of the demographic ford is targeting they might not be old enough to know where the name comes from
