You are very optimistic!

If S650 comes out in 2023, I predict a Mach1/Boss/Bullitt type car in 2024, and a high end GT500ish car in 2025. That seems to be the normal cadence.
I’m staking my claim now! 1st on the list for the Mach 1/boss type. I’m poor otherwise I’d get on the list for a Shelby :giggle:

Since this is non-binding, Zach I'll give you $5 and a pack of Big League Chew to bump Atlas1 to #2 and slide me in at #1 :giggle:

You get more snow than I do so I would be able to use the car more. And I’ll throw in some strawberry bubblicious!

The boss is definitely due. The 2012/13 was while ago and I still miss my CO but if they go auto only I will probably pass.

It has to be a 3 pedal. We have to hang on as long as we can...

I'm bookmarking this so I can revisit when your tune has changed
Bookmark all you want, it is vanilla at best, and ugly at worst. Heck, I still don't like the last S550 updated nose and hood, and never will. They really missed the styling plate, and the S650 looks like another low and outside for me.

I almost bought a Bullitt, because of the color, but glad I didn't because of the front styling, all the badges and no automatic option. When I saw the Mach1 nose and the fact that a dark green color and automatic transmission were being offered, I was instantly in. Sign me up Baby!

I still hate the latest hood, and will be replacing the one on my, someday to be built 2022 Eruption Green HP Mach1.

Hmm...

Ford previously stated the M1 would be two years only.

Going to say for MY23, anything above a GT performance-wise or model type is doubtful.

Ford is already struggling just to fill current orders. The S650, while not appearing to have significant changes (from data thus far), will have new components, suppliers, QC issues (1st year new generation), etc.

MY24 and 25, possible. Seeing a Boss with some unique features/engine would be cool. GT500s? That's an entirely different discussion: if these models should continue or end now.

Long-term, I'm afraid I'm witnessing the end of an era and the start of something akin to the 70s, for many of the same reasons which occurred in the 70s.

I'd love to see the performance models (GT, Boss, Mach, Shelby, etc.) continue in different timeframes, but I feel MY22 might be something of a turning point. I'd very much like to be proven wrong.

The Tremec is such an awesome trans and the rev matching executes downshifts perfectly. I see zero reason to buy an automatic in a Mach 1.

Ali Jammoul, vehicle program director of Icons and Ford Performance, says the S650 is coming out next year (2023). I don’t have a reason not to believe him.

Seeing a foxbody interior next to the S650 leaks makes me understand the design but I am not a fan at this time. Maybe that will change when I see the finished product.

I'm loving the automatic and rev matching on downshifts in 3rd, 4th on every drive 😁

Well the Mach 1 was supposed to be a Boss (they would have to drop the 302 as the Gen 3 is 307). If you recall the Mach 1/ Mach E fiasco. It was after that Ford decided to appease Mustang owners with a new S550 Mach 1. Hopefully the 1st S650 special edition will be a Boss.
yeah...I think the original look can be seen in that official photo that had a 302 looking S550 in the backdrop. I bet that was the original "Mach 1" until they royally #$%^ed up the Mach name slapping it on the Mach E and had to do damage control.

There will probably be a gap for the changeover for producing the new car, So the 2024 will start early 2023 (March) and the 2022 S550 will cease production, my guess would be December 31, 2022. So there might not be a 2023 Model Year at all.
