Just keep in mine driveability/performance is very subjective. I tune multiple platforms and I can say by far the mustang owners are usually the easiest to please, what most of them think is good driveability other platform owners would think is completely unacceptable.

Understand as well Lund makes a basefile from one car. 8 out of 10 times it will work in other cars, it's not really "custom" tuning, it's one size fits most tuning. The 2 out of 10 times it doesn't work well they basically blame you and of course that's why you see the hate online with them. Their thought is well it worked in other cars so if it's not working in yours then it's your cars fault. Sometimes they are right, sometimes the car does have a hardware issue. Keep in mind multiple people work there but they aren't all real calibrators, they just adjust the maf curve a few percent and add a degree of timing, that's the extent off their tuning ability. Everyone gets the same cookie cutter base file that was probably made 6 years ago with very little development since then.

It's a buisness so that's how they can be efficient and still stay in buisness.

Exactly, it's the same way main dealers operate.

They employ techs with enough knowledge to carry out basic tasks, it's bad business to pay a technical genius to change brake pads.

Don’t really have time to go through all 10 pages, but what was the prognosis? Who’s the best ?

The general consensus on this forum (currently) is Wengard
Thanks. Currently not liking VMPs customer service still waiting on my 91 tune revision since I’m mainly running E85 it’s not a big deal but I would expect more out of them

Isn't that what every tuner starts with? They have a collection of basefiles and then they tweeak it for anything different in that particular car?

Most tuners yes. Some definitely spend much more time honing in certain setups then others. Some tuners base files can be 6 years old with little to no improvements since then.

The average end user has no idea if their tune is truly optimized or not and will blindly just support their tuner. That's completely understandable though, people should pick and use who they feel most comfortable with.

I used lund because I got a free ngauge that only works with them. Did a bunch of mods to my roush supercharger and fuel system switched to e85 and it runs like shit sometimes. Great sometimes. You never know what it's going to do sometimes taking off at a stop sign it will just stumble and I wind up almost getting hit. Sometimes it goes like it's supposed to. Now, it has a lot more power than the roush tune, but it has the the bottle open, closed, open, closed, open thing happen all the time that is common with pd supercharged coyotes if not properly tuned. I told lund and they said that's normal. Their shop truck does the same thing under 2500 rpm. I call bs. Nothing normal about it. It's DANGEROUS

2017 Mustang GT - 2.3 Roush S/C, headers, 3" Catless Exh and return fuel system
Hi first time posting here so be gentle. I have a 2017 Auto GT I have upgraded with a 2.3 Roush Supercharger, headers, 3" Catless Exhaust and return fuel system running 666RWHP. Bad number I know, its actually 666.6 you wouldn't read about it lol. When I 1/2 to 3/4 throttle it hits a wall and bucks around like a pycho bull for a bit then clears and light the tyres. Did we identify the issues here beyond going to a different tuner? Was it cam timing or something else?

A clear answer would be greatly appreciated.

Basically Lund has one tune and it is designed for WOT. They shut off the part throttle VVT and some cars don't like it.

Go back to your Roush tune and see if the bucking goes away.

Just a SMH deal why are you running a return system with so low HP?

I LOVE that 666whp is considered low HP these days. there's a lot wrong in the world today, but there are a few things that are better than ever.

First off. Thank you very much for your response, very much appreciated.

I was experiencing vaper lock, if I shutdown between 10 to 45 minutes then tried to restart. The return system solved that issue. Possibly other ways to fix the issue but the new rails look great and I'm a sucker for bling.

As for the power, 666rwhp will be fine for now. This is my first Mustang and I would like to spend some time with her and get to know her idiosyncrasy. Drive and feel are totally different to a Falcon or Commodore, in most way much much better. Once we resolve the bucking issue the smaller pulley will go on.

Thanks again, cheers have a great day.

Unfortunately Lund *usually* says it's not the tune, even when it is.

Plenty of good tuners right there in OZ.

PCMtec has some listed on their website. They are from Australia also.

Enjoy your mustang

We have divided our workshop lists on our website into global and Australia. In Australia some of the Mustang tuners are Profile Autosports, Graham West and many more. You would have to contact them to see who is willing to do remote tuning and has experience with your specific setup.

I know Graham West have done a lot of Roush setups and are willing to spend the time, with the current exchange rate it may work out quite affordable.

There are imo far more Mustang tuners in the US however.
