Since going FI and remote lund tune I've never really been satisfied with the quality of the map.
It works ok but being a bit of a perfectionist, not well enough I feel.

I have this occasional engine lurch/stumble when tipping in to light throttle, happens maybe 3-4 times in a week.

The idle is high for my liking and when I queried this the revision was awful, had to accept the higher idle and revert back to previous as things were getting heated in the emails. Not the best service I've received.

I feel it's over rich despite Lund saying it isn't. I have black exhaust and lots of black carbon spots on the rear bumper. It stinks of unburnt fuel from behind when given a wot blast and you can see the haze in the mirror.

On a track day, the haze is annoying and embarrassing.

Doesn't use oil or breath so it's not that, just heaps of fuel.

I've smoothed out the Maf signal by smoothing out the pipe transitions and increasing the taper on the reducer that sits before the blow through Maf and made an air straightener that sits before the Maf. Maf signal looks more stable than the stock Paxton setup and Lund calibrated the Maf after. Made no difference to drivability though unless looking at the log.

If I unplug the Maf the car runs like absolute shit so the tune is heavily reliant on the Maf signal and I think that a bit crap. If the Maf died, it runs so rough I wouldn't be able to drive it home.

I've heard good things about Wengerd, what does everyone think about trying someone else?
wow......I continually hear bad things about Lund...

No problems with my tune as far as drivability goes but of course the internet says it'd be infinitely better tuned by someone else
This is an opinion based on your driving style and your experience.

I thought my ecoboost cobb off the shelf tune was great, and for what it was, it was great. Then I got my lund tune and thought wow its even better, then I got tunedbyNishan tune and it blew lund out of the water, doubled my gains from stock. Im sure lund tunes arent trash and dont blow motors, but they also from mine and others experience dont compare to other tunes as other tunes push the extra mile which adds alot of power and drivability.

Its also opinion of whats acceptable, some people want it to run as stock or better being double hp +, some people like me are fine and enjoy the roughness of a racecar type feeling where the car being a little less smooth is “cool” not a bother

Maybe you should try a wengerd tune and give us feedback firsthand of whether or not you thing either is better and whos tune feels better/logs better, once youve seen both sides

I wouldn't really say it's opinion. I've owned a couple different supercharged cars tuned by different people. I know what a 'close' or 'not perfect' tune feels like.

My car still drives like stock. It starts instantly, hot or cold. It gets near-stock mileage. It idles great. It doesn't surge or buck at cruise, or part-throttle. It doesn't hesitate and beats Hellcats when I push the gas. It doesn't smoke. It doesn't make the plugs or O2's look like shit. I get an ideal amount of timing advance, no knock, and well-targeted AFR's at WOT.

I'm sure Wengerd (and others) make a great tune but I don't have any problems with the one I have now. Why would I spend close to a thousand bucks getting another tune when there isn't much to gain and I don't really have a way to measure "if it's better"? Spend a couple more to put it on the dyno and see I gained 5hp?

I don't really care about how your ecoboost tune went with Lund because that's not what I have and that's also not their bread and butter.

As far as what lund tunes, im not sure coyotes are their bread and butter either, they tune a ton of platforms at this point and others point out they havent spent the time to fine tune their tunes on coyotes

You say you dont care about my ecoboost tune from lund but seem to care enough to claim i made the power i made on a different tune by cheating somehow 🤣

You dont have to swap if youre happy but im yet to hear about any bad wengerd experiences but many across different platforms about lund, and as the residential lund enjoyer it would be interesting to see your input on a comparison. I would say its a consistency problem with lund, anything not deemed worth their time seems to get a half ass tune with a half ass response in emails but thats just my 2 cents

Either way, i think both are better than pbd

oh boy Rob is about to be attacked lol
No he's not. It's his opinion and experience and is totally justified. If I had a Lund tune and had Zero issues with it I'd also never change and never spend extra dough to gain almost nothing. So he's right in his own experience. Unfortunately alot of people have experienced a lot of negative things. Like me, my car, when it was N/A would stall all the time. Changed nothing but the tune and it went away. They wouldn't fix anything, wanted extra money to "look" at a data log just to tell me it wasn't on their end, when it was. To me it was absurd to pay 200 dollars for them to look at a log (if they even did) to tell me it's not their issue. That pissed me off. That's poor service. At the time I had the tune for a couple months so it was still fresh on my car.

They don't.

I've run the Lund tunes and they are not great. My wife never knew what tune is in the car and I asked her to compare. In full disclosure she thinks I'm nuts.

Most people don't notice drivability issues. One dealer I worked at we did an experiment. We took 4 cars with perfect appearance and pulled a plug wire and 4 others that didn't look as good but ran perfectly.

All 4 with the pulled wire sold before any of the others. On delivery prep we reinstalled the plug wire. I doubt any noticed the car running better.

Just keep in mine driveability/performance is very subjective. I tune multiple platforms and I can say by far the mustang owners are usually the easiest to please, what most of them think is good driveability other platform owners would think is completely unacceptable.

Understand as well Lund makes a basefile from one car. 8 out of 10 times it will work in other cars, it's not really "custom" tuning, it's one size fits most tuning. The 2 out of 10 times it doesn't work well they basically blame you and of course that's why you see the hate online with them. Their thought is well it worked in other cars so if it's not working in yours then it's your cars fault. Sometimes they are right, sometimes the car does have a hardware issue. Keep in mind multiple people work there but they aren't all real calibrators, they just adjust the maf curve a few percent and add a degree of timing, that's the extent of their tuning ability. Everyone gets the same cookie cutter base file that was probably made 6 years ago with very little development since then.

It's a buisness so that's how they can be efficient and still stay in buisness.
