There is also the validation of spending thing that goes on. If someone spends money on something as an upgrade and voices that the original part sucked it validates the purchase more. It amplifies the validation as more people do the same. It's like a little gratification party and some people get in on it without even determining if the original part sucked or not.

This is my 3rd S550 (15 EB premium, 15 GT premium with a slush box, and the 15 GT premium M6). I think I got it right with this one. I absolutely love this car much better than my S197. I couldn't wait to take this one back to those Arizona mountain roads. I do have the vibration but I will get that looked at when I take the "Tomato" in for service

Ok. First thread. I've been all over this site for a few weeks. Love the information but now I'm getting worried. Does everybody hate their S550? "The suspension is terrible". "It is the most floaty car i've ever owned!". "The MT-82 is the worst thing ever produced!" "Fit and finish is terrible". "The vibration between 50-70 mph made my teeth explode!" And on and on and on....

I've ordered a 2017 GT premium and almost want to cancel it.

I have a 2007 Mustang GT that I ordered new from the factory in '06. Love the car. Was totally surprised how nimble it felt. I had never owned or really driven any type of performance car before that.

I've been running AutoX locally for about 5 years now. The first two seasons on stock A/S tires. Then upgraded to Rivals. Man! Felt awesome! Dominated FS here for 3 years. Also upgraded to Koni's and better rear sway. It felt better but not light years better like it did when I got new tires. Still, it wasn't until this year that other guys started beating me in FS (2016 Camaro. Sorry).

I'm not a race car driver. I don't want to be. I have no interest in going to Solo nationals. I just want a fun car that i can DD and occasionally AutoX. But at this point I feel like I should order a Toyota Yaris and save myself the headache. At least it would cost less.

I rented a S550 on a family trip (V6 auto obviously) and thought it was sweet but am I really going to like it better then my '07 in the long run? It's had almost no issues in the last 10 years of ownership and has 110,000 miles.

Anyway, how about some positive stuff?
Wait till the refresh next year....according to insiders you won't be disappointed.

I've just started the process of trying to get out of my 16 Ecoboost I purchased in May.

It's been in the shop since the beginning of the month and they are still chasing an oil leak.

I liked the car for the 4 days I got to drive it and would gladly take another S550 if they are willing to play ball but I can't really say that I want to deal with Ford ever again if they dick me over.

It's a love story for Fiona and I. And my MT-82 is great, 10,000 miles on my 2015. I have PP, I'll switch to Koni inserts and drop springs eventually but it's not that big a thing to me.

Pic for prosperity.

Haha! You're probably right. I guess it's just easier to remember the negatives. I'll just try to stay positive! Didn't worry a bit about my '07. Of course I didn't look at a single forum then. :headbonk:
I know what you're getting at, and the sections you mainly go to may matter. The Suspension and Road Course/Autocross sections may fit you better than much of what shows up in the 'General' or 'Mustang vs' sections. Don't open up a thread whose title suggests that a lot of negativity lies within it unless it's something you absolutely need to know about (not everything will be).

Thanks. That makes sense. I've just decided not to worry about it. Now I seem to see one every few days and it is driving me crazy. Man, they look sweet!

Love my 16 GT PP. No idea what most people are complaining about with the transimission. It occasional makes a thunk in lower gears but the action of the shifter is the best i've ever felt. Coming from somebody who has owned a 2003 mustang, 2009 cobalt ss, 2001 z06, 2008 bmw 335xi and a 2014 gti. Also its a badass autox car for FS. Only 2 events in it so far but i've won every event yet by a good margin so the suspension in my eyes is great.

More come to the internet to complain than to complement unfortunately :p . I took it for test drive expecting to hate the car, not really a muscle car guy. But after a test drive I bought it :) . In the space of 20 minutes today while out grabbing lunch I had 4 compliments on it, all women which is kind of funny since most of the time it's the guys who drool over it.

My only real complaint is how thin the paint is. You look at it funny and it'll chip, I'd seriously recommend a clear bra. I'm getting one after fixing my 5th chip in the hood. :/

Stock I think it's a little floaty, even with the PP. with Steeda ultralites and BMR cb005 braces, this thing is just planted, and handles 80-90% as well as my old brz. No lie. I love this car, and I have no idea why people don't like the mt82. I think the gearing is a lot of fun (3.73's) , and the trans is great. My uncle has a manual 14 with like 40k miles and no issues either. You will always hear the vocal very small minority on the internet vs most people. i had some rattles in the dash but popped the panels off and put flocking tape behind them and it's been gone for months. Cost me 3 bucks and five minutes of my time. No panel or alignment or any other issues and I have a very early build car (2014). Been nothing but fun!

Love my S550 GT + PP. Love the ride, love the power, love the handling, love the sound, love the build and design quality, it's all stock and I'm not even remotely compelled to upgrade or change anything. I really gotta hand it to Ford on this one, for a CAD$45K (MSRP taxes in) sports car - pony car - muscle car, they hit a home run.

And it still turns heads every day I drive it. Even though it's monochrome magnetic with black PP wheels, it's sweet - almost zero chrome (5.0, GT, and pony logos only), no badges stickers or other crap to mar the smooth and crazy beautiful lines of this car.

positive stuff. Put down the laptop and take a test drive and come back and tell us how much you love the car even if its not exactly what you ordered. S550 is going on its 3rd year...the GT test drive will resolve many if not all your worries. However going from a rental V6 to ordering a loaded GT and then considering a Yaris...Doesn't make much sense. Good luck!
