Hands down the best purchase I've ever made. Nothing beats the feeling when you're behind the wheel of this thing...every single mile.

My vote is for magnetic with BA package too!

Ok. First thread. I've been all over this site for a few weeks. Love the information but now I'm getting worried. Does everybody hate their S550? "The suspension is terrible". "It is the most floaty car i've ever owned!". "The MT-82 is the worst thing ever produced!" "Fit and finish is terrible". "The vibration between 50-70 mph made my teeth explode!" And on and on and on....

I've ordered a 2017 GT premium and almost want to cancel it.

I have a 2007 Mustang GT that I ordered new from the factory in '06. Love the car. Was totally surprised how nimble it felt. I had never owned or really driven any type of performance car before that.

I've been running AutoX locally for about 5 years now. The first two seasons on stock A/S tires. Then upgraded to Rivals. Man! Felt awesome! Dominated FS here for 3 years. Also upgraded to Koni's and better rear sway. It felt better but not light years better like it did when I got new tires. Still, it wasn't until this year that other guys started beating me in FS (2016 Camaro. Sorry).

I'm not a race car driver. I don't want to be. I have no interest in going to Solo nationals. I just want a fun car that i can DD and occasionally AutoX. But at this point I feel like I should order a Toyota Yaris and save myself the headache. At least it would cost less.

I rented a S550 on a family trip (V6 auto obviously) and thought it was sweet but am I really going to like it better then my '07 in the long run? It's had almost no issues in the last 10 years of ownership and has 110,000 miles.

Anyway, how about some positive stuff?
Here is a real BIG positive for you keep your S197 series Mustang, and never look back, you now own one of the BEST series Mustangs ever produced, keep it and be HAPPY !!!!!!!!

Nice! Both of you have Magnetic. That's what I ordered with the black accent package. I am pumped to get it. Just wanted to hear something positive. Thanks!
Don't worry about the negative stuff you read on forums and websites. Just enjoy your car. I've had AC trouble with mine. But, I love that car and want to keep it till it's considered a classic.

You'll have plenty of fun. I absolutely have no regrets. Regarding autocrossing, you know the drill as far as the basics - driver then tires then suspension. If you want a fun daily driver that handles nicely without tons of modifications, this car will still fit the bill.

I think you will enjoy the steering feel, the braking, and the increased sure footedness over bumps right out of the box. Good luck!

PS - I also have Magnetic. See my journal here.

My S550 is lovingly nicknamed my mistress for good reason. She may have a few flaws but damn is she sure a lot of fun!! I have driven a lot of Mustangs through the years and they all have the things that we complain about but the bottom line is I have loved them all and with a few small mods you will be beyond happy with your choice.

I've got a 15 GT/PP and a 16 Shelby GT350 both cars were received flawless, panel fit and finish! As some of the above post mention some treads have read, and I'm being absolutely literal here, one member complaining his tail lights were off 3 to 4 degrees apart?? The smallest of a paint run above the headlight in fender cut out, you couldn't pick it out unless you were bent over and upside down. Yes some have had legitimate complaints but some are just way overboard nitpick stuff. The GT's are great cars, you will absolutely love it!
Here are my 2, I wouldn't have bought the 2nd one if I didn't like the 1st!

Ever since i was a kid I always wanted a Mustang. To me there are two cars that are true American icons, the Chevy Corvette, and the Ford Mustang. The Mustang is more about the freedom of the open road than any car on Earth, and I had to wait until I was 36 to finally get my '15 GT. So you can imagine how high my expectations were.

This car has exceeded those expectations by a wide margin. It's fast as hell, reliable, handles well, tons of fun, and achingly beautiful. And as other posters here have already said, people are just looking for help solving problems. I did it myself because there was a problem with my AC a month back. It was fixed under warranty and I was back on the road in no time. It hasn't darkened my enthusiasm for the car one bit. Also, as others have said, the market for parts is insane! You can customize practically every inch of the car.

The only thing you should be worried about is how you're going to pass the time until you're behind the wheel!

That thing looks awesome! Just seals the deal with why I went with Magnetic.

I totally understand about people looking for help. I was just feeling doubtful. And now the wait. Ordered on 5/25. Have yet to hear anything. I guess I'll just play tea party with my daughter for the next month....

My car is a rock star where ever it goes and I feel like a rock star driving it. Best Mustang ever produced and it's not close.

Love mine..

M-82- Only Mustang I have owned that I can count on when I power shift. I have had zero issues with mine.

Floaty- Yes a little, but the GT is the compromise between handling and comfort. The PP cars step it up a notch. I have been going the aftermarket route with Steeda and have been very happy.

Fit and Finish- I must have gotten one of the good ones. No issues here.

Vibrations- None here and smooth to as far as I want to take it.

I own a GT / PP and it's a very cool car, and is quite fun to drive.

You are correct, though: The fit and finish is terrible for the price point. There are tons of small things that bother me about the car (squeaks and rattles that my dealer refuses to fix, poor panel alignment, Sync eating shit so frequently I leave the fusebox cover off and a pair of needlenose pliers in my center console) but overall it's still a very fun car to drive.

For a tick over $30k I can't think of anything else that touches it in style or performance.

Seriously , are you comparing the new 17's to a 2007 model? pfft, it's a whole different ball game now for the better.

Like what the one guy said I am a rock star everywhere I go as well and I just driving an ecoboost, lol. People asking me about it everywhere, guys looking at it in the parking lot of Lowes, etc, it's crazy.

I freakin love my car, special ruby red paint, some mods, more coming and high tech everywhere.

I also have tiny gripe with fit and finish. Both of the 16's I have bought in the last two months have had fish eyes in the paint. Panel alignment is not great, but not terrible either. If I wanted a flawless body I would have bought a much more expensive car. For the money the Mustang is a helluva car.

Both issues are only noticeable if you're the one hand washing and wiping down the car. At a glance completely unnoticeable.
