Keep in mind that there are plenty of tech pack owners who did NOT experience any limp mode at the track. AutoX is certainly achievable, as those sessions are very short.

If you absolutely want the electronics and recaros - just get a 17 and keep it simple.
i think this is what it's going to boil down to... went to local dealership today and sat in both the recaros and the leather.... not even close, the recaros grabbed me and held on! very comfortable.

struggling with this as well. there are a few new 16 tech packs around at dealers in my area that can be had for 4 to 5k off. color choice is limited, but classic white with blue OTT stripes are out there. i have seen a few low mileage 17s around 55k too.

i am more of a hard parker right now :) but who knows what the future holds. it is a car i plan to keep for a while.

A Tech Pack is the GT350 grand touring car. If that's what you're looking for then there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm run my shizz hard on track. I needed the Track Pack.

2016 Tech pack here. No issues with tranny temps on the road, autox or stuck in heavy traffic on a 100deg day. However 2nd track day the trans caused limp mode. Installed FP cooler and electric pump for $1k (self installed) and now no trans temp issues. I periodically have the rear diff. fluid/friction modifier replaced.

I just picked up a ‘16 tech pack. I looked at every model of the S550, and kept coming back to the gt350. I paid what I think is a good price, I feel better spending what I did for a car barThis isn’t something I plan to mod, I have wanted a Shelby for the longest time. I did not like the recaro seats, so it took a bit of looking to find the color I wanted (Magnetic) with the more comfortable seats. No regrets.

I commute 3 days a week in my GT350 and I keep it set on the soft suspension (touring) setting and I find it very comfortable riding - somewhat better than my 12 Brembo GT. I kind of like the slightly higher seating position and easier access in and out in my old 12 GT, but that's the price of progress.

I also have the FP cooler installed. Just a question for you does your pump have a lot of humming and or vibration when turned on? I have a kill switch installed so if I don't need or want it on.

I rode with a couple of 2016 tech packs over the weekend. We ran them hard up the mountain and one of them did experience overheat/limp mode as result of not having the coolers. its all in what you do and how you drive. Others kept the same pace as him but didn't experience the issue. YMMV but my opinion is you can always add the coolers.

You could hear the pump with the engine off but barely hear it with the engine running. No vibration as long as I keep air out of the hoses. I too have it on a switch and use as needed.
