For those who have bought the QJ and are now longer term owners of the device, what's the Pros/Cons of the unit?

Can the car be driven over the unit IF it's not in use - instead of having to constantly move it to another area?

How does it fair on tiled garage floors, such as Race Deck type of tiling? Any damages to tiles from weight of unit once loaded with a vehicle?

Whay about maintenance - any leaks, problems or higher than normal maintenance that was NOT expected after buying/using the unit?

If doing transmission work, is there enough clearance under the vehicle/unit to maneuver?

Is suspension work with a vehicle on the unit not possible?
1) No, you do not want to drive over them as it could likely damage it as some point.

2) Leaves no marks on Swisstrax compared to regular jack / jack stands.

3) Maintenance
- All you may have to do occasionally is top off 1/2 inch of atf fluid below the fill hole.
- Fill cylinders with 40 psi each use as it loses pressure as months go on
- Everything else should be tight fit without needing a wrench and just a visual check needed

4) You could probably drop the transmission but I've not done it. I have done the following on QJ:
-Trans / Diff changes
-Suspension
a) Spring changes
b) Front Strut removal and install for variety of reasons
c) Rotor/brake pad maintenance

As long as the hyd lines are removed no problem.

Pay close attention to the bleeding of the jacks. If both jacks do not go up and down at the same rate.
To correct bleed the slow one that is the bad actor.

The air pressure should be checked before use. They can leak down. That's it.

The new design will allow that.

Is suspension work with a vehicle on the unit not possible?
Yes, speaking from a mod perspective.

Here is a tip no one has mentioned yet;
Lowering the jack, once down, continue pressing this down button for about 5sec.

The reason naturalizes the pressure in the hyd line.
Quick disconnect requires one to push in, first to uncouple. With the line under pressure, you are pushing against that resistance.
Holding the button allows the line pressure and pump to naturalize. Makes the disconnect much easier.

FYI Quick Jack going on sale, tomorrow only!

https://www.quickjack.com/car-lifts/5000tlx/
These are getting to be out of my desired purchase price. I no longer am interested. Iā€™d only use it to change oil, Iā€™m no wrench.
Costco just had them for $1300 just a little bit ago. A year and a half ago they were about 1K atCostco.
No sale!

My dad has one of those and it weighs a ton. Downside is ya canā€™t do much underneath and ya have a small fortune in the race ramps. Otherwise they lift high. Still waiting for weather to break so I can set up my 5000TL quickjack.

Used a new QJ, purchased recently, the older one is the first picture. The new high lift has plenty of room to work laying on a creeper. I was really surprised by the difference.

Older model, the cardboard creeper was your best friend.

If you cannot tell by looking at the distance off the floor. See the roofline crossing the white far left cabinet door and the windshield to the window header.

A real improvement

There is a high lift model now? I didn't know that.
I bought mine about 4 years ago after a bad episode with a car slipping off the jack.

How much higher does the new model go?

So i just got my quickjack in the mail today. Super excited. Are any of you using it on Jacking rails? I have Steeda jacking rail and was wonder if it is more secure to take them off and use the pinch welds or to just put the quickjack blocks on the jacking rails?

Leave em. Thatā€™s what they are for. I use the blocks right on the rails.

Leave them on. I Position the rubber pads longways front to back, so they are centered on the quick jack, I then Position the jack stands to where the pads actually contact both the jack rail and the cars jacking seam making sure the quick jack stays parallel with the car front to back. Good luck
