Mine has wrenched on me a couple of times. No reason found, but shut her off and restarted and shazam...magic. No codes. The wrench seems to be more for Fords benefit, not us. Gee, how the F did we ever get to the year 2020 without it before?

Mine did this today at a redlight actually I couldnt even go over 5 mph, had to pull over. Its actually done it twice on me, both times while sitting at redlights though. I pulled the codes with a bluetooth reader and p0103 and p0104. Looks like it does have something to do with the MAF sensor in my case. I cleaned mine a few months ago, I wonder if it got damaged by that. Im going to clean it again and if I still get this issue happening I guess I will replace the MAF sensor.

I left the gas station once and when I went to get on it hard and it shut down and wrench came on. I pulled over shut it off and looked it over. Everything was fine so I fired it back up and nothing. 27k miles later that's the only time it happened. I love sliding around in the rain so I go puddle finding when it's raining out here and slide it around and still only happened one in the dry desert climate...

I've done the limp home thing but it didn't involve a car. Luckily I haven't seen the dreaded wrench (yet). :)

Damn, that sucks OP.
I hope you get it all sorted out soon. Hopefully the wrench light is just an "one off" instance.

Since you aren't going to the dealer to get it checked, you should probably check the code and see what it means. Don't clear it just in case it happens again. If it happens again the dealer will have the codes and the count it happened to rely on when they figure out what caused the issue. It could be that Ford will make a revision in the factory flash if this is reported by more drivers because it is hyper sensitive. Then that revision could tune out the LHM in certain situations. Just depends on what caused it and if it is a failing sensor or something else that was mechanically wrong.

A droplet or two of water on the MAF element can cause this. Not a big deal. Let it air out, or dry it off yourself.

The car seems to have some sort of issue. 100% stock, just got it's first oil-change, 6500 miles.

Driving to work, the power ended, it was rev-limited to 3K or so RPM, and the wrench light came on. In the middle of D.C. morning rush-hour traffic, it was quite disconcerting. Thankfully there was just a few miles left in my drive to work.

Oil pressure was fine (I did check the oil when I got to work, it's fine), temps were fine, A/F ratio was fine. I figured it rained all night long, and something that wasn't supposed to get wet, did.

Ford Roadside Assistance is sending a flat-bed, and it's being taken back to the dealership I bought it from.

Just venting. I'm a little irritated.
I had this happen to my PP2 several times going downhill in traffic. It would go into limp mode and I would pull off and stop the car, wait 5 minutes or so and start the car back up. The car reset itself and all was fine. After 12 of these interruptions my dealer decided to replace the PCM. When pulling the data out of the existing PCM to transfer over, Dave found a performance code inside that was installed by the factory that GT's don't have, which was a surprise to all of us. I guess the car has more over a GT than just suspension and chassis. The PCM swap seems to have solved the issue.
