I used to run Poterfield or Pagid on one of my 911 track cars on both the track and street and the noise does not bother me. I am running Goodyear Supercar 3 R's and Hoosier R7 on Fikse wheels at the track now. I appreciate you sharing with me what you use. The OEM rotors are quite inexpensive...
Does anyone recommend a brake pad / rotor combination that bites more at the track but can still be street driven. My use is 60% street, 40% track. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
I run my PP2 at different road racetracks in variable ambient temperatures and have not had any issues that I know of, but the one thing I did do was have LiquiMoly put in my MT82. We usually run 20-to-40-minute sessions up to 7 times in a day. The only thing I feel that I am not sure about a...
I like the innovation shown here. If it can get the power to hook up and outrun the Porsche GT3 RS on the track, it is a bargain. Good things are going to come from this, I believe.
Very insightful write up and I would have to agree with you on most of your points. I have driven one at a track and without a track alignment on it, I found it to be like a fish out of water. One problem Ford has is the influence of the accountants and marketing people in the design and...
I run the square set up on my PP2 and it has amazing mechanical grip in the wet or dry. I run the OEM sizing, 305/30/19, Michelin Sport 4S in the rain and Good Year F1 SC3 in the dry. It makes for an incredible momentum car at the track.
The F1's will last me for the track season and they stand up better than Hoosiers. More importantly, the F1's were designed for heavier cars like the PP2 or ZL1 and seem sturdier than the Cup 2's. And, I can just about get two sets of F1's for the price of a single set of Cup 2's. More Porsche...
I have a Ford Master Tech on staff who builds race cars, and he is the one responsible for doing this. We tried lesser camber before, but this is the sweet spot. If you know what you are doing, the suspension is very adjustable. I'm not that guy, just the driver.
I run negative 3.25 front and rear and it is pretty much perfect for me on the track. My dealership has a race mechanic and knows these cars inside out and did my set up. When it comes time to replace your track wheels, look at the Goodyear F1 F3R, they were designed for the ZL1 and are half the...
