So I’ve heard that the factory batteries in these cars weigh a ton, so I am looking for a good lightweight battery for my 2020 GT Premium 401a with the 10 speed.

what are some good ones that don’t weigh much?

Deka Etxl18. Needs to be on battery tender if sitting for more than 2 or 3 days.

LOL I mean the stock battery weighs about 30 pounds and you can find lighter batteries from Braille that are like 15 pounds... but I guess I think it is a bit silly trying to save 10-20 pounds on a 3,700+ pound car. 😂 Hell just remove the spare tire kit or the junk in the trunk and there is your desired weight savings, haha. But seriously, try the Braille brand. Should be what you are looking for.

Sounds silly yeah, but I’ve also done a bunch of other things like lighter wheels and a few other things. My car is currently about 100 pounds lighter than a regular 5.0 so I’m trying to shoot for everything to kind of just come together.
I’ll check them out though, thanks! Any specific one of their batteries that sticks out?

Deka is supposedly a rebranded Braille at a cheaper price.

-billet battery tray &
Anti Gravity brand Lithium- 900CA.

You'll be paying ~$30+ per Lb, for wt savings - vs Motorcraft wet.

Li-ion should be tendered if sitting.

Wouldn't recommend as your 1st ~25 /~30lbs of wt# savings coming off a street car....
...but would be if it was last ~25 pounds you could find, at that price/per pound.

Cheaper options are out there.

If it's an MR car, I'd be leery of any LiPo. I did what you are attempting to do, and the LiPo couldn't handle it. It has something to do with the complicated nature of a LiPo, and the cars on board BMS.

Hell id sell you mine that has just been sitting in my garage (on a tender) if you got a non MR car. But yeah, I'd not do it if you have an MR car.
