It's a Mustang, you gotta mod/adjust it to your taste.

I had my dealer fix the gaps on my hood before I would take it. Strangely I posted up on my hood shaking at speeds over 60mph. I decided to check the bolts on the hinge last weekend and found three of them loose. I don't trust mechanics especially ones associate with dealerships.
I haven't been on he freeway yet to see if it fixed my shaking hood, crossing my fingers.

moving the hood takes literally 5 secs. it's only 4 bolts...then if you need to move fenders out some it's a couple on top of the fender. all very quick and easy.
Can you show a picture of the fender bolts your referring to?

My 2016 GT, Ingot Silver was exactly like this. I mentioned it to the dealer the day I picked it up. He documented it and said...sure thing! Just make an appointment, bring it back and well take care of it.

When I got home I said to myself...self! "F " that! I'll fix it myself. All the dealers going to do is have some guy do the same thing I can do.

So I loosened the hood hinge bolts and adjusted it myself, retightened the hood hinge bolts... Done!
^^ This ^^

It's [probably] not the hood, check this thread:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48810

Take note of the suggested fix, and my results using said fix (made the car nearly perfect, <5m, one easily accessed bolt)

At least in my case, with the same sort of symptom, it was the fender, not the hood.

open the hood. they are right at each fender under the hood. some may have to move the weather stripping out of the way to get access to the entire head of the bolt but yeah super easy. I had to move my passenger side fender in after realigning my hood when I installed hood struts. no need to take the bolts off, just loosen them and the fender will move in and out slightly.

There is such a thing as a Panel Gap Gauge!!!

Panel Gap Gauge

Perfect Gap Gauge

Most panel gaps for Sports Coupes/Sedans and Sports Cars are 3-5mm depending on the panel. 3mm is the thickness of 3 dimes!!!

ALL the reviews that pit this new Mustang against the 2016 Camaro state the issues with the mustang body panels. My hood looks the same with the uneven gapping and it kinda pisses me off too!

i don't mind a little gap. What really gets me is the hood lift I get. 80 mph my good looks like it might blow off! Not meaning to thread jack

Seems to me Ford needs a new boss at that factory. I would never let an employee pass a product that's not right.

I've visited a body shop today where my mustang is being treated for panel gap issue. It turned out that the front bumper cover had been dismounted in order to adjust hight and match it with the hood edge line. Fenders lining up very nicely, gaps are perfect now. Car is pretty much ready except minor paint touch up they have to complete. Other than that everything looked real good. I'll post some updated pic's in a day or two once I get the car back, cheers

As a guy that can't afford a Mustang, I wish I had panel gap issues to complain about.

I hear you man, it's not like I'm paying cash for my mustang. 7k in down-payment puts me in low 500 monthly payment territory for 5 years. I haven't been able to afford to buy a decent car for almost 10 years. I've been hit hard in 08 due to financial/real estate crash. I've been patient but now was the time so decided to pull the plug on S550 few weeks ago.
I hope your fortune will turn around soon and you'll become an owner of new S550 with gap issues soon. Nonetheless, wish you luck brother. Keeping my fingers crossed
