I'm assuming it does since its a push button start. Doors should unlock as soon as you approach the car or touch the door handle (with the fob in your pocket). I hope this is what you meant by keyless entry?

It's listed as standard equipment on all models.
You won't see any numbers on the door, you just touch the handle with the fob in your pocket.

IIRC I believe you are correct about having the fob with you..... But what if you happen to (or want to) leave fob in the car, will there be an option to put in a code to unlock, similar to the picture, as on other cars?

I personally would appreciate an option for that.

Enhanced Security Package??? (43S)

Keyless entry vs remote keyless entry.

The dealer product guide has a number of detailed sections on all the technologies. You can find it here.

I have this on the fusion, never used it. Why would I? Never quite got it, I always have my keys on me no matter what

I run a lot and would like to not have to bring along the fob (keeping it dry from sweat or rain).

Keyless entry vs remote keyless entry.

With keyless entry you can't lock your keys in the car unless you manually hit the lock button on the door with the door open then close the door. The sensor on the handle won't let you lock from outside the car it if it detects the key is in the car.

KEYLESS entry is different than Intelligent Access.

Keyless entry has the numbers you have to punch in to get in the door. You can also lock your keys with KEYLESS entry with keys inside if you either punch in your code or hold the last 2 sets of number at the same time.

Intellifgent access is where the door handle detects your hand on it and your keyfob nearby to open the door without use of key.

Why would you want to leave the fob in the car?

We leave the FOB in the car when we goto the beach and don't want to bring it with us in the dirt / water. We take the lotion...suntain lotion, towels, chairs and umbrella

I like leaving my key in the car when I go running. I also remember enjoying being able to go out to my moms Marauder and just punch in the code to be able to retrieve something for her without having to go find the key. It is handy to have intelligent access. I won't complain if it isn't in the s550 but it would be nice.

Are the external keypads used for keyless entry a dealer installed option?

Oh, look. They are.

Compatible with the Mustang too. I think it would be ugly as sin, but it would solve the problem.

The car will not have a keypad if it does its unannounced and would be a pretty big deal since the mustang has never had this feature. the above post is what you will be able to do to get in the vehicle. no more fumbling with keys just walk up to the car get in and hit the start button.
