Anyone had poor experiences with Juggernaut Tuning or just me?

This was back in May and I have since given up on them and started tuning the car myself / using old lund files and modifying those until I have more time to learn everything.

Anyway back in May I was looking for a new tuner as I was unhappy with the Lund customer service and had heard good things primarily from Beefcake about Juggernaut. So I bit the $1000+ bullet and bought their tune and a new tuning device.

Customer service is terrible. I am talking about one response a day if you are lucky (multiple days in a row with no response was common). This is not a response + tune revision, usually a quick response asking a question or answering mine or telling me to log something else.

As far as the tune goes, I gave up after 3 weeks of back and forth when I was still on a 91 tune that was still slow as hell and couldn't shift right. My motor overreved to like 8400rpm in 1st then short shifted at 7,250 in 2nd. No tuners have ever had an issue with tunning my car and the shift points, why are we on the 7th revision after 3 weeks and countless datalogs and the car can't even make a close to consistent shift between gears.

I asked Beefcake before I bought about them saying Matt had left but was still helping out, he said they are still great tuners, apparently not. I asked Beefcake about the poor customer service and was told I need to pay more to get them to respond faster 🤣.

Also today on Instagram I saw them post that they had to ask another tuning shop for help because they couldn't tune a customer car, at least it was something more in-depth than shift points.

Anyway $1000+ dollars and hours of time down the drain.

Edit: Can't spell

I was regrettably tuned by them. Nothing good to say about it. Funny they call themselves the "10R80" specialist, car was shifting worse than stock.

I promise you they're commanding a shift at 4500 RPM and slipping the 'f' outta it to full pressure to where it's 'suppose' to shift. Kinda.

I would recommend Emailing Wengerd, take your loss and don't look back.

Already had someone reach out in my dms that was built and tuned at their shop. Car ran terrible, owners were no help and would not meet with the dude when he was at the shop. Also had crazy shifting and fueling issues.

He ended up switching to Wengerd and car ran 100x better

That bridge was burnt into a pile of ash.
Not really, everytime I post anything on here about tuning it turns into free promotion for him. The only thing I have ever said is this:
He tried tuning my JLT intake, fuel trims were off and he blamed the intake.
Lund tuned it just fine and said they didn't see issues.

There are many factors and this was years ago now. I don't have the ability to pull up his maf curve to compare with Lunds to see if they were just completely different or what was happening. Many people (presumably) have had their JLT intakes tuned just fine. He responded fast when I used him and car seemed to be running decent although I never timed it.

No hate towards Wengerd, even if it was his fault he told me not to run the tune and was trying to help me diagnose the issue if there was an issue on my end. He has also offered to help me since, so I don't think there is much hate on his end.

Now that I can pull tunes maybe I will try to figure out what they were doing wrong. They kept blaming adaptive shift.

I am still not 100% on the transmission shift point tuning but it looks to me they just didn't know how to set the shift commands properly. When they would send me an updated tune the 1st gear shift point would change and sometimes second but 3rd (highest semi-reasonable gear to rev out on street) would always shift at the same point.

Edit: Idk who Mike Yargeau is but don't let him tune your car haha

Lund tuned it after you fixed all the JLT air leaks, correct ?
You forgot about the paddle shift issue.
What happened to your Tuning Adventure thread ?

Honestly I think we should move this to dms as I hate clogging up threads, but here is the answers, dm me if you have more questions besides the main topic.

I could never find any intake leaks besides a very minor gasket tear that I could never determine if it was actually leaking while installed, didn't notice a change in fuel trims when I replaced it. This would have to be a very big leak as fuel trims were 60% off.

Paddle shift issue was when the car would shift to 3rd gear to 4th at higher rpms and load the car would force shift to 5th then if you let off the throttle and rpms would drop would force shift into 4th. I told Lund I had the problem next revision it was fixed. Wengerd said he learned of a fix to the problem after we had stopped tuning. As far as I understand the issue doesn't involve every car only very specific cars with certain OS.

I've gotten a new job and haven't had time to do a lot with the car or tuning unfortunately. I am finally making okay money tho :)

After many tries JPT could not get my shift points anywhere near manageable. They kept saying nothing was wrong while I was getting ready to give up & started to think it might be my trans. Then they would send another tune & it would change. Finally I think they got tired of me & car ran like stock again. Like stock, as in no mods no e85. Felt very low on power but shifted a bit better. Finally seen Wengerd was accepting other tuning devices & I switched. Car ran fine from 1st file. Another member on here also hit me up letting me know it was the tune, that he went through the same ordeal. Should of gone Wengerd from the 1st tune. Saved $200 by going with JPT. Which turned into a loss of +$700
