First mod of mine—I think even preceding the clutch spring. Definite yes. They're nice to have.

I didn’t want to add weight, so just use pads. $10.00 for Jack pads and $20.00 for Jack-stand pads so I can put all 4’s up at once.
I’ve used them at least 8-10 times the past few months and they work just fine for my needs.

Now that I learned what jacking rails are I'm waffling. I've been looking for pads for my hydraulic jack that will fit the 'stang and my Tbird. I think the smaller pads (65 mm) will fit the TBird but they seem to wide for the 'stang. Haven't found any pads smaller than 65mm. The magnetic pad noted above is 3" and won't work for either car, although it's a great idea if it would only fit.

I was also thinking about the safe jack from rennstand. It seems like a great idea but I think the opening for the pinch welds will be a problem for this contraption as well.

The rails may be the best option. It adds some weight but that doesn't concern me a whole lot. The downer is that it doesn't solve the problem for the TBird. I'd like to find a single solution for both.

A little extra chassis strength never hurts either!
This was a reason I went with them, but after install I don't think they add much. They are not like subframe connectors of the past. They don't tie thw frame together.

How are they working for you with jack stands?
Have you used them to get all four wheels off the ground?
Rails are pretty easy to work with.
I don't think I ever put the stands on the rails. I put them on the front frame a d then the box in the rear right behind the jacking rails. Just put in the drag k member, which takes the front frame out, will need to find a new spot.

The weight is negligible. Trade 5 double cheeseburgers for 5 salads and you'll probably break even. Love the versatility and even lowered on 30 series tires I can still slide my Craftsman aluminum jack under the car easily. Car is also rock solid with 4 jack stands under it.

LOL, but seriously anyone complaining about the lack of weight i will challenge to a blind test where you drive the car with and without these on it and identify which situation is which. It's a tiny amount of weight at the lowest point possible on the car.

I don't think anyone's claiming that it's significant. But most guys know that it all adds up. Few lbs here, few lbs there and before you know it, the car is 100 lbs heavier than it could be.

It works the opposite direction as well. Shave a few here shave a few there, before you know it the car is a 100 lbs lighter than it was.

I bit the bullet and installed the rails because despite the effort to keep the car svelt, the greater concern was messing up my undercarriage.

I had the steeda jacking rails on from the start, then I acquired the Automotive Authority space saver spare with the factory jack. The factory scissor jack will not work with the rails...so now I use a jack pad to lift for maintenance

Not subframe connectors, because there is no subframe. Very useful, and do add some rigidity.

Be careful with these, they have been known to occasionally split and fail under load after they've been used for a while. The notch with the rounded bottom instead of square is less likely to fail, not sure why that wasn't part of the design of the puck-style pads.

Jacking rails were the first mod on my Bullitt. A few weeks after installing, i got a nail in a tire and had to hit the tire shop. Who knows where they would have lifted the car without the rails. The slotted adapters would be great at home (i have some of the BMW-type jack adapters at home) but not helpful in an emergency repair shop scenario.
