  1. Going thru o2 sensors like water...

Have you tried using a Defouler device on your O2 sensors? For a coupe bucks it's probably worth a shot.
  2. Inverness Florida Cruise Nights

The 3rd Friday afternoon/evening of every month there is a "Cruise" night at the Court House Square in the center of town. Inverness is in North Central Florida ~20 miles west of I-75 at the northern end of the Florida Turnpike (Wildwood, FL). City of Inverness Webpage ...
  3. 2023 Wrapped up Pretty Well

Impressive. I didn't realize you could get "gloss" wrap material. Is it actually metallic or is it pearl? I'm curious because if the wraps really are available in gloss metallics or pearls they may actually be a superior solution to re-paints. They offer a degree of paint protection like the...
  4. 2023 Wrapped up Pretty Well

I remember seeing your post regarding the seat covers. You mentioned at that time you planned on using a vinyl wrap over the body. Is the "paint" on the body in the images a wrap? Or did you have it painted?
  5. Has anyone here ever put a tow hitch on a Convertible?

I have the Curt hitch on my car. I use it to tow a utility trailer and to install a "Cargo Carrier". It works fine. I bought it from eTrailers.com. Highly recommended e-tailer. The websites all show that the Curt hitch won't fit the ragtop but it's not true. I contacted Curt directly and they...
  6. Anyone regret buying a ragtop vs a coupe?

No regrets at all. The 'stang is my 4th rag top and it's great. I've acquired 2 more convertibles after the 'stang. If you live in Florida without a convertible you may as well live in Milwaulkee. My only small regret is that I didn't shop for a GT. I didn't expect to like the 'stang as much as...
  7. Spark plug and Coil pack replacement

Due to the potential of a head gasket "catastrophe" I wouldn't take too many risks with the plugs & coils. I'm not sure if there are any aftermarket coil packs but if you want to replace them I'd stay with the Ford OEM coils. I'd also stay with the Iridium plugs. I don't think the brand is...
  8. Rust in spare tire storage!! can this be stopped and repaired?!

Find an autobody shop supply retailer in your area and see if they have a product called ospho. It's a rust inhibitor. You certainly can do this as a DIY since its in a non-visible area on the car. It's a lot of work and a pain but doable with the right products. The rust inhibitor is key to the...
  9. Top Well Drain Holes

I was able to use my compressor with the correct fitting to blast air up from the bottom hole all the way up through the drain holes at the top. Fortunately there were no blocks or restrictions in my drains but I'm determined to keep it that way. I put the pics of the drains here to help others...
  10. Old guy Mustang questions.

I bought a used '15 Ecoboost ragtop a little over a year ago. I don't consider myself a mustang guy but the late model 'stang ragtops are one of the more practical touring cars available on a budget. I would have liked the fire breathing V8 but I didn't want to spend the add'l $$$$ for the V8. I...
  11. Grille Shutters - Not So Much

Drew, thanks for the offer but what started this thread was that I thought I had the shutters and I wanted a way to selectively disable them for towing. I wanted to see where the shutter motor was located to see if I could modify it. Since I don't have the shutters to begin with there's no...
  12. Grille Shutters - Not So Much

Rod, Yes I did buy the car used but I'm sure that the rubber flap is OEM. It's attached to the rear of the bumper bar with 3 or 4 of those plastic "Christmas tree" rivets. It also has slots stamped into the rubber for the 2 "stays" that are supposed to hold it horizontal. And it also has a...
  13. Grille Shutters - Not So Much

So I removed the trim panel above the radiator, etc and the nose to see if I can modify the Grille Shutter Motor operation and I discovered I have no Grille Shutters. 🤔 What I have instead is a rubber flap that is "mounted" horizontally between the back of the "bumper" and the AC condenser. See...
  14. 2015 Ecoboost PVC issue.

I recently had the TSB performed on my car. The ECU has to be reprogrammed after changing the PCV/Baffle plate. BEFORE you go down this path check the tag on the side of the baffle plate on your car. Mine had the "old" style part (Bar Coded) depicted in the TSB and so I wanted the newer "high...
  15. My New Katzkins

Well done. Does you car have the air conditioned seats? If so did you address the airflow problem to the seat back while recovering the seats?
  16. Rearview mirror image shakes at high speed

I had a similar problem on my '15 ragtop. I found that the set screw that attaches the mirror stalk to the windshield was loose. I tightened it up and the mirror is much better. It's worth double checking it. I'm pretty sure it's a torx bit.
  17. Misfire after downpipe and tune

First go back to the OEM tune & clear the code. Then drive the car and see if the code returns. If it does the problem isn't related to the tune but likely to the downpipe install. Might be another problem that surfaced coincidently with the downpipe install but doubtful. If the code doesn't...
  18. Meguiar's Ultimate Wheel Cleaner Recommendation

I just used the Meguiar's Ultimate Wheel Cleaner on my wheels. Very pleased with it. I have the twin spoke 18" painted wheels with the coated polished aluminum spoke surfaces. They're a pain to clean with only soap & water and a brush. The inner barrels had a good deal of brake dust build up so...
  19. Mysterious Coolant Leak

That seems fishy. Do you monitor the coolant temp while driving? Does it spend any time in the red? Unless the engine is getting very hot you shouldn't be losing any coolant. Especially on a 2 year old car. Maybe a head gasket issue, maybe not. But since the car is still covered by the warranty...
  20. Catted Down Pipe Tunes

It would probably be worth an edit or addendum to your downpipe thread to add that the car ran A-OK on the stock tune with the catted downpipe. And what year/HPP option car you have. I assume this means that there were no check engine lights or DTCs as well but it would be worth adding this info...
