Anyone want to chime in with Jack / Jack Stand recommendations? I had to sell mine a couple of moves ago - and now it’s time to rebuy. I’m planning on going with 4 jack stands - ramps have never been all that natural to me (but I’m interested if you have a strong preference on that too).

Thanks!

I hate the ramps as well. Just avoid the HF jack stands of death. After the last go-round of oil changes I told my wife I'm getting the Quick-Jack. Probably later this summer, we'll see.

Have 4 stands and a jack from O'reilly's. Quickjack in the budget plan for 2022.

Ramps are handy for a quick oil change. But they're also big and bulky so not all that good for general repairs.
Jack stands and a floor jack are more versatile but more effort to use.
Like any tool each has its place.
Definitely get good jack stands though.. Having a safety pin is a nice precaution.

Don't skimp on jack stands and buy American if you can. Avoid that HF garbage.

Ramps are convenient and quite safe, but no always appropriate (for example, if you need to remove a wheel) or can get in the way. Nice to have all, for choices.

Don't forget to properly support your jack and jack stands. Concrete is OK, but they will often sink into asphalt.

22 Ton on the left, 3 ton recalled garbage on the right. Go for the one on the left...

Or just get the damned Quickjack. Most regret not getting one sooner.
Wow! Now *that's* a jackstand pin! :)

This right there. I got 2 of the left ones (different brand) and they are friggin' solid. I like the flat bottom that is more stable and won't dig into your pavement.

Not gonna lie, I put myself under 1.5 harbor freight jackstands lol. The aluminum lightweight ones. Havnt heard any noises and hasn’t fallen on me yet. I only use one at a time, Jack up a wheel and I slide under and do all my work.

Prob should get new ones one day

Thanks everyone!

I have been looking at the Pro-Lift line and think I might go that way. Quickjack is a bit too much for now!

Thanks again!
