All this confusion is why I just went with 4 jack pads on the designated pinch welds to place the jackstands at, and lift the whole front half / rear half at once with a 3 ton jack from the front/rear subframe. Less headache imo

I use rubber jack stand pucks (I have various sizes and types). They conform somewhat to the shape of the jack stand saddle and the chassis point on the car. It makes for a very stable setup when the stands are on a hard, flat surface (like a concrete floor).

I wanna be clear, I know nothing about hockey other than pucks knock your teeth out when hit in the mouth. I witnessed this first hand when I saw it happen so I know it’s true. My question, I looked up VELGUM and they are hockey pucks, right ? Having said that I didn’t know they came in different sizes or did you modify yours. Also are you putting these between the jack & the car or the jack & the floor. It’s just that your wording was a little confusing

Sorry for the confusion.
I was using the term "Pucks" as a generic term to describe the rubber disks and blocks that come in various sizes. I also have a set of actual "hockey pucks" that I use. I use whatever combination that suits my particular vehicle and application at the time. The "puck" goes between the jack stand and the car chassis jack point. Hope this helps.

I use these 3”x3” squares of heavy rubber with a slot that fits perfectly into the access opening at the side sill arrow and sits perfectly in the pinch weld seam at just the right depth. Use my floor jack to lift and if the jack stands are require, mine are the bluepoint brand with a flat saddle and angled ends. I use FP tie down plates and there is no obstruction. This way I don’t need jacking rails which by the way, I don’t subscribe to that jack rail theory. When I use the front jack point, the whole side of the car is raised, no reason to go fore and aft.

Every Canadian weeps at the thought of killing a puck.

I use K member and rear end housing to jack and place stands under the frame rails
