If we’re looking at the same thing, I don’t see a crack.

Thanks for pointing it out. That's the opening on the strut where the knuckle mounts. Two separate pieces of metal.

If you're trouble shooting a popping noise like mentioned from the wheel going over a transition in the concrete I'd start with the wear items first such as rod ends and the strut mount/ bearing.

Usually a front popping noise when transitioning over roadway variances, or turning the wheel when entering/exiting a parking lot can be related to 1 of 3 areas such as, the lower ball joint, tie rod end or upper strut mount.

How many miles are on the car?

Check those sway bar bushings.

Some lithium grease on each side will cross that off the list.

My 15 had this problem.

Thanks for your help. Took me a while to see it. The shadow made it look like a crack. I've checked all the joints can't for the life of me figure out what's happening. Here's a video you hear the noise twice.

Check and make sure the front sway bar end links are torqued. My OEM sway bar end links started popping and cracking even though the appeared to be tight. I re torqued them and the unwelcome noises went away for a while. I replaced them with a set from Steeda and never had the noises return.

The passenger side upper strut mount on my '17 V6 was loose from the factory. Sounded like someone was hitting the side of the car with a bottle every time I applied the brakes while in motion. Quick tightening, and it never happened again.

I dropped my 2019 GT off at the dealership today for a similar sound that happens over even tiny bumps. I used a Chassis Ear tool and traced it to either the passenger side front strut or the strut mount. 2700 miles on the car. (And yes the strut nut was tight.)

Sway bar, or strut related. I lean towards thesway bar. Unhook you front sway bar links and try again if noise goes away, it has to do with the sway bar, and follow it from there. If not check struts and mounts closely, then after that it would be time to look at other issues. I'm tginkthi sway bar related because of one wheel dropping of cu b before the other and a different alignment of sway bar from side to side as it flexed causing said noise.
