Hello Everyone, Dave here from Missouri. I Recently purchased a 16 Mustang for the wife. It’s been her dream car ever since her dad sold his 65 way back in time.

So far we’ve added LED interior lights, dash cam w/extra cam for the front splitter and a backup Steeda filter. Next up jacking rails.

One question I do have, is it has axle back quad tip exhaust, (Roush?) but only the two inner ones have exhaust coming out. What do I need to do to have exhaust coming out all four?

Thanks,
Dave

If the car has active valve exhaust and/or selectable drive modes, you should be able to change the settings. Your owner's manual might be in the secret compartment (yellow tab) in the glove box. If those are aftermarket mufflers that don't have the necessary hardware, you might be SOL.
You might want to try getting the window sticker to see how it was originally equipped. Fordwindowsticker.com might work, or you could pay for a Marti report.
Edit: You can also download the owner's manual in .PDF format from the Ford website.

Thanks for the info. I have a pic of the window sticker that the dealer sent me. I’m new here, so lots to learn. But I thought active exhaust wasn’t available till 2018?
From searching the www I believe it’s a Roush axle back exhaust. It looks identical to this one.

See the shiny tip next to the darkened tip is bothering my OCD 😁

I’ll have a look through the manual.

Thanks

Hey, Dave. You're probably right about the active exhaust not being available in '16; I'm iggerent 😬.
I don't know how many members follow this section of the forum. For more and better answers, try posting your exhaust question under V8 5.0L Engine / Mods: Bolt-ons, Exhaust, Tuning.

the UK / EU market didn't get the active exhaust until the facelift model so potentially same as US market / all markets.

Hello, I'm Jay from the DC area - just got my 2019 GT Premium a couple of days before Christmas when my daily driver Hyundai crapped out after 10+ years and 232k miles. Didn't want a car payment, but funny how those things work, isn't it? And likewise wasn't looking for a Mustang, but I figured if I'm paying for it, I might as well enjoy it! I even got the stick shift!

Honestly never a Ford guy, although I always respected the Mustang heritage. I personally preferred GM F-bodies growing up: My first car was a 1969 Firebird convertible, and I lusted after my friends' Trans Ams and Z28s. I was bummed when Pontiac disappeared, and the latest incarnation of the Camaro was just awful. I've driven Chargers and Challengers before, but they're a little "boy racer" style.

It came with 28k miles on it, I've put about 1k on it since then. The tech and performance is awesome, just getting a handle on what the car can do. I'm amazed at how easy and comfortable it is to drive. The only mods I've made so far are adding the cargo net and door handle storage, clipping a phone holder to the dash, and swapping out the single tone horn for the dual tone version. I have hood struts and Weathertech floor mats on the way, but I'm in no hurry to trick it out. I think this car is just beautiful inside and out!

My name is Dave, and I live in Pensacola, Florida.

I have a 2020 GT Premium PP1 that I purchased new in February 2020.

The only changes I have made are window tint and staggered 20” wheels/Michelins. Today it needed a brake job, so it got drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads.

My Daily is a 2023 F150 Lariat Powerboost.

Don't think I've ever seen FR500s on an S550. Looks excellent.

Thanks again for the link of where to look in. I was able too find what I was looking for. 👍

“Please Note: Roush considers this their “Passive” system. Meaning, the outside tips are open and free-flowing all the time and the inner two tips are bolted onto the muffler with a removable block-off plate that is pre-installed from Roush to limit sound and flow. The end user can easily remove this plate in a matter of minutes to reap the full benefits of both sound and performance from their new quad tip Roush mufflers.”

Same….I was raised in a Moper, GM household and always thought friends don’t let friends drive fords. 😁
