Sweet what dealer did you order from? And curious what mistakes you made with the lightning..Right down the street in South Overland Park
I ordered mine from the Olathe Ford off of 135th. Are you ready for this novel..."Early adopter syndrome". I initially upgraded the Eaton to a KB 2.3 being a brand new owner I didn't do much research on the 2.3 KB but I found out the hard way the rotors were known to seize. They seized twice and the last time it turned the blower into a paper weight. At that time Whipple had just introduced it 3.4L blower to compete with the KB 2.8; mentally I was frustrated with KB at the time so I decided to give Whipple a shot. With that said I honestly believe that blower was to big for that motor. Did it make good number...YES, was it a blast to drive...YES but there wasn't that many running great times with it compared to the 2.8 KBs. Also when Trickflow released their heads for the 5.4 I got a set of those which I would do 10 times over the problem was my tuner convinced me to go with these "custom grind" cams for me to reach my ultimate goal. Big mistake again BIG doesn't always mean BETTER and the "Early Adopter Syndrome" the cams were to damn big, a nightmare to tune, but did they sound good....HELL YEA. Once again I think I would've been happy with some off the shelf stage 2 cams. "Hed the Advice of Others".... it was known amongst the Lightning community that 650 hp was kind of that unicorn number. Once you start to go past that number stuff starts to break more frequently, you're turning wrenches everyday and the vehicle just isn't fun anymore. Once again I thought I could safely get around that. When I was making about 640ish the truck was as reliable as it would come. I could get in it crank it and drive it anywhere, it would run 10.0, 10.1 CONSISTENTLY, I could beat on it like a drum and it wouldn't miss a damn beat. Basically once I crossed that threshold I needed to make a decision be happy with what I have or turn it into a race truck. Always use a reputable company.....Long story short I had a few motor issues and I was recommend a local guy that was good with LS stuff and decent with modular motors.....lets just say the truck was just never the same. Don't get me wrong I loved my Lightning but I've learned from those mistakes......I Think:doh:Sweet what dealer did you order from? And curious what mistakes you made with the lightning..
Yikes that doesn't sound fun at all, I bet it's not too long after the '18's come out that we will start seeing packages put together with good numbers. I hear the DI is going to be easier to ultimately tune as well but I wouldn't want to be one of the first ones on the road.I ordered mine from the Olathe Ford off of 135th. It's a great car and people love them man! Enjoy and congrats!Hey guys, I sold my E90 M3 that just went out of warranty for a 2016 GT. I'm loving the torque even though the redline is 1,200rpm lower. However I can't believe how many people compliment and talk to me about my stock GT at gas stations, parking lots, etc... I've never been approached this much in my bimmers before. I guess there's something about American cars or Mustangs that just make people feel more comfortable.

Welcome and congrats!Whatsup everybody. My name is Kevin, I'm a SoFlo native and this is my 2016 ecoboost and first ever mustanghttps://flic.kr/p/Y48sBZ. So far what I have planned for car performance wise is the Ford Performance tune along with a mishimoto intercooler. I'm relatively new to the mustang and forum scene but would love to meet up with anyone down here in the area to talk cars and what not. Pleasure meeting you all
