IMRC DELETE is it worth it?

I wonder about people who have ESP and need a new manifold, what will Ford do for replacement?

My first thought would be a GT350 manifold. Any service writers on here?

Actually it does nothing for torque. They open up with very little throttle input. It may help when on the freeway and you climb a slight incline, but anytime you want power they open.

Lots of people don't. Lots think they open at a certain RPM. They will open just off idle if you push the pedal far enough.

Yes worth it. On my 17 with 2020 intake manifold & 18+ factory air box, no loss of low end power. No loss of idle quality. No loss of fuel economy. Fricken hauls ass above 6500 rpm.

Everyone knows you will make more power with an 18 intake swap. I thought it was interesting the IMRC were left in place and the car picked up 60 rewhip and 50 TQ on the run. Just and observation.

They will make the same power with the swap even if they do lockouts… the power comes with the better flow nothing to do with the imrc

Word, the 18+ manifold with the 18+ air box is a killer setup on a 15-17 car.

if you already have one, why would you buy another? still pointless... if they are not new, you can find a used one for like $50 in case that for some mysterious reason, you need to replace your oem one

That mysterious reason is a broken IMRC valve shaft... which the used ones likely have or will have soon.

I am looking for any advice. I have a 2016 gt and I don’t want to get the 2018 manifold. I was thinking of doing the delete/ lockout in my oem manifold. Do I need a tune after that? And who sells the tune and how much?

Yes you can pull it and delete with zipties or buy a delete kit. Very very rarely is the failure in the actual moving rod that the flaps ride on but the square peg that spins the position sensor for them. You won’t know for 100% without pulling the manifold and pulling the canisters but it shouldn’t be an issue.
The other option is they can be turned off in the tune without even locking them out.

I just installed MMR Lockouts on my 2019 Bullitt which has the GT350 manifold. Their website says to order Part number: MMR 477191 Which is for the 2015-2015 GT350 manifold. I posted my installation/fitment experience with these in another thread and thought this might also be a good place to share that info.
