Get a thermal r&d catback. It's the only one that doesn't sound like shit when catless.
Theres a couple options that dont sound like crap when catless

Borla touring, borla s type, corsa sports, thats just to name the few off the top of my head

You can also always add big box resonators and more mufflers to an existing exh to quiet it down without a big name brand catback swap

That's all opinion. I've heard corsa and borla stype. They both sound like shit I'm person and online clips. But everyone has their own taste in exhaust. Same way people think straightpiped sound good they think broka sounds good. When catted it does. Catless it does not imho

Coyote doesnt have a great sound profile and it also has a different than standard american v8 noise. Its not for everyone catless or catted imo, i agree with you. However if you want the huge volume from the coyote, your options become limited for a better sound but not reduce most of the noise

I said in my opinion the sound like shit. And to me they do (and to others I know especially at mustang meets). Catless changes everything. Corsa sports sound ok but extremes are shit (not to mention terrible quality) but that's a different topic.

Yep, I miss the 4.6 sound but I enjoy the coyote power. I just went from straightpipe (loud and shitty) to thermal r&d (literally can't say no to a 3in stainless catback for 780$). It was sworn by many people in here and even catless the car has great volume. But sounds damn good. Being super loud has no purpose besides taste but super loud and sounds good honestly might be impossible on the coyote unless you enjoy rasp. I'll have to grab some exhaust clips this weekend I have a few people asking.

Coyote definitely has a "bark" that no version of the 4.6L or 5.0L ever had. I think that's largely the 12:1 compression ratio. Remember we were at 9:1 and earlier smog-era were even lower. Direct injection is what allows the insanely high compression ratio, which is also a big reason for the power the car makes. I imagine if you went down to 10:1 you'd lose 100hp.

In quiet mode a loud catback catless exh still is loud for cold start
I've got catless headers, h pipe with Roush quad and active exhaust. Have it programmed to start in quiet mode and it's pretty quiet IMO

Please do, im not against thermal r and d as personally i have heard very little about them

But i am looking to go from borla touring mufflers with x pipe to a 3” mid level catback option, id love to hear yours

And the 4.6 sound is great. I guess the flow effeciency cost was the exhaust sound for coyotes

It depends- look at it from the neighbors pov if its loud from 4am coldstart. Once it idles down, of course shes fine but our cold starts are brutal - i even have my cold start procedure turned off and its still damn sharp and loud on cold start (as a non car guy neighbor pov)

An opinion is an opinion, but any one with decent taste understands coyotes dont have the most amazing sound. Now, comparitively between coyotes, then you can start to get some more accurate answers but its also hard becuase some like the higher pitch raspy coyote nature, some prefer a more oldschool v8 deep growl which a coyote doesnt really get, especially with loud volume

I'll try to grab some clips this weekend, my dashcam has been a bit choppy so it's not capturing sound very well. From what I heard on here thermal is the same as krona. Also I'm a welder and I can confirm that the thermal system I got is extremely high quality and the welds are good, seams are nice. Pipes are rounds and it's a very easy install. Sound quality is by far the best I've heard for a catless car. And apprently all of the boosted guys swear by the system for quieting down and sounding good and removing the rasp, there's still someone at WOT but that's unavoidable unless you had some resonators as well. ill update when I get the clips

Il be waiting!
On a side note, one of the main things i see for my own self as a issue with this catback is its non active exhaust. I think for my use case id rather active over any other options, however im still curious how this fares against my buddys catless borla s types

Hello everybody, I have Kooks catted Longtube headers that I recently paired along with my Corsa Extreme Catback, when driving in lower rpms under 3000 it is pretty tame however, I am facing the problem(not a problem for me, but my neighbors) with my cold starts being ridiculously louder than they were before. I leave for work at 2:30 am and was wondering if anybody has a method of quieting down their cold start that doesn't involve a tune. I have seen videos of people using pool noodles and making some sort cold start totes and if anybody has results using these methods or has better methods on quieting down cold starts that would be much appreciated. I do not have active exhaust. I am going to make the cold start totes tomorrow and I will leave feedback here on how it goes.
You got the loudest mufflers in the world....
