These cars are plain loud, one of the reasons I bought it. I've only done a Borla switch fire, and it's still freaking loud. No way would I do headers. I had a 67 390 mustang with headers, blown out glass packs with short straight pipes That stopped just past the rear axel, it was nowhere near as raspy the Coyote is on start up, until you punched it and let the big block breathe.
How do you quiet it down on start up you ask? Wear earplugs, or push it out of your housing plan.

These cars seem to have a bigger difference in the volume of cold starts vs warmed up, even compared to other loud cars. I have a Roush axle back with stock resonator. Sometimes when driving or after a warm start I wish the exhaust was louder, but then after the next cold start I say oh hell no. :)

Hello everybody, I have Kooks catted Longtube headers that I recently paired along with my Corsa Extreme Catback, when driving in lower rpms under 3000 it is pretty tame however, I am facing the problem(not a problem for me, but my neighbors) with my cold starts being ridiculously louder than they were before. I leave for work at 2:30 am and was wondering if anybody has a method of quieting down their cold start that doesn't involve a tune. I have seen videos of people using pool noodles and making some sort cold start totes and if anybody has results using these methods or has better methods on quieting down cold starts that would be much appreciated. I do not have active exhaust. I am going to make the cold start totes tomorrow and I will leave feedback here on how it goes.
I used to leave the garage door closed, used a piece of normal batt insulation, cut in half, and placed them fiberglass side, onto the muffler tips. Seemed to help a little. Once the high idle calmed down, I opened the doors and removed the insulation.

I will just live with the exhaust system I chose. Once again thank you everybody for your inputs.
Some states including CA have regulations on acceptable exhaust levels. So yes, you will until tired neighbors will finally complain.

Shit you ain't lying, my neighbor with a BONE STOCK 2020 GT500 got pulled over because his "exhaust was too loud" cops even went as far as telling him that "sport mode" was illegal, had to go to a referee and had a GM representative and everything to prove the car was stock.....jesus I don't miss that state lol

Often I shift into drive and apply the "emergency brake', to help keep RPMS down.

My friend with a Camaro SS was recently state reffed as well and he is bone stock not even an aftermarket exhaust. I just generally take the highways and stay in low rpms in the cities to avoid drawing attention to myself and so far so good.

My first ever tune was from Bama. When I purchased it, I mentioned that my vehicle has both Roush axle-back and a Roush H-pipe. The first tune they sent significantly quieted the cold start, which I didn't prefer. I requested a tune revision, and the cold start sound returned to its original loud state.

Get a thermal r&d catback. It's the only one that doesn't sound like shit when catless.
