Ford should have put one latch per side for the hood, like BMW and some other manufacturers do, rather than just one central one. My flutter is not noticeable on the street, but I have been black flagged at the track once, "the corner worker says your hood looks like it's not latched" (it was properly closed). I'm a bit undecided about adding hood pins, plus if I'm going to modify maybe add vents as well or get an aftermarket hood, but I've heard quality can be variable depending I guess on the manufacturer.

I've been faster in my wife's three row SUV than I have been in the Mach, though at triple-digits I've witnessed no fluttering on either vehicle.

where you traveling with the wind direction during a hurricane? The hood lift and flutter over 80 is undeniable

Maybe in your particular case, not in mine that I've noticed. I've put all but 36 miles in it and I've never witnessed anything. I'll crank on it next week or whenever I drive it next and pay explicit attention.

Make sure the rear of the hood is contacting the rubber seal on the rear back panel. Their needs to be pressure from the hood to the rain seal to keep a constant pressure pushing upward when closed. Good Luck.

The gt500 latches won’t fit a standard gt from what I’m told. At least if you get the Vicrez gt500 hood.

I'm picking up a new Mach 1 next week and have to quickly break it in as I have a track day in less than a month. My 2015 GT's hood would flutter like crazy on track but I just got used to it. In that car I would consistently hit 142 MPH into turn 1 at Pacific Raceways. Very curious how the Mach does with hood flutter.

2015-2017 was way worse than 2018+ from what I read. I saw it only once, strong wind, truck going the opposite direction, 80 mph.

I haven't experience any hood flutter up to 100mph. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones, but honestly if it did it wouldn't bother me unless it was excessive.

The flutter happens when there is an instant overpressure, like when being hit by a crosswind or wind gusts. Otherwise the airflow kind of stabilizes even at higher speeds (e.g. 120 mph). But as soon as you hit a sudden flow, even at some low speeds it futters.
