Functional grill lights?

I didn't see this other thread mentioned; I apologize if it was and I missed it, but here's a link to what I believe was an amazing member-fabricated grill lighting modification. It of course is not something a novice would want to pursue.

I pulled off the plastic cover and it looks like I would need to pull out that entire piece of the front grille to get to the lights

I would be interested in someone making functional cooling vents from the faux fog lights. Cooling that Whipple would be nicer.

So on my 2022 Steeda Mach 1, I have the Anderson composite faux grille. I also have a Whipple stage 2. I have had no issues and plenty of cooling. You can take a look at the making of my car to really see how the front grille looks like.

I actually saw this yesterday driving behind me which prompted me to look it up to see if theres been any developments in the fog light area. They had it on color shift which I thought looked pretty good.

For the turn signal with fog light option, you can make it to work, based on my personal investigation and conclusion.

Starting with the fact that the 2015 - 2017 GT housing as well as GT350 and GT500 sidemarker assembly, are the same as Mach1, the parts needed are

Emailed them and got confirmation that this should work for Mach 1

(Brake ducts are not going to be used for M1- Maybe shelbyperformanceparts can sell the led assembly only)

And the step by step video to install everything is the same as GT350 from CJ pony parts channel



No need to cut/slide any wire, a plug and play option.

I was looking to do it myself, but is out of my budget for fog light project for my Mach1

Am leaning to Diode Dynamics SS3 option as I investigated that perform amazingly well and those lights have tons of application in the offroad world, with tons of, brackets, options for swapping lens, clear to yellow, fog light to driving lights, spot to wide pattern and so on.

Am not going to be able to work in my car till late may 23, due workload and traveling.

I will publish more info when ready

I want to share the list of parts, as I could not get all the ones mentioned on my first post. LIST is as follow in case anyone would like to replicate my 22 Mach 1 Setup:

(USDM) Originally I was looking for the Shelby option, but could not find it. But zero regrets with DD option. Resistors required (About to order them from DD)

Diode Dynamics Deutsch DT 2-Pin Adapter Wires

Tripleseven GTE Fog Lights custom request to include Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro SAE Driving, instead of the sport low series version as the package typically includes. If asked they can sell you the Max version instead, which is expensier.

The steps followed. Are exactly the same as the ones shared by CJ Pony Parts for GT350 Fog Light video on YT.

Conclusion: I wasn't looking for a budget option, I was looking for the seamless installation, as Plug & Play as possible with quality parts. Took me more than I wanted to, but at the end made all the parts to perfectly work so far.

As side note the GT3 S650 also uses a very similar fog lights (not completely filling the whole opening) and looks very motorsport to my eyes and really love it on my Mach 1, in case someone is hesitating about it.

I could be wrong, but I have not seen fog lights pockets for 2024s Mustangs, maybe we are not so bad after all , at least we can put something and looks "oem-ish"
