Did you reinstall the rubber rain seal which goes across the back of the underside of the hood and contacts the wiper shroud? That applies pressure and stabilizes the rear part of the hood

Anecdotally, I haven't noticed any hood flex on my car, and I'm driving 80+ on the interstate daily

Got pics of what this looks like? My stock hood is coming back to my place tomorrow so I can look to see if it's on the car already or on the stock hood.

Yes, the rain seal will have to be taken off old OEM Hood. Mark the location of the rain seal mount push pins on the new hood for the rain seal installation. Good luck

I went with Drake Hood pins, the angle doesn't affect the closing like on the quick latch set up. Plus I didn't like how much upward pressure was applied to the hood where the quick latch was mounted when I closed and locked the hood.
Thanks for mentioning the Drake Hood pins! I was looking for some classic ones with lanyards. The Quik-Latch Retro Style Hood pins are out of stock and $345. Steeda has the Drake ones for $109.

I had the Quick Latch ones on my last Hood and never liked them. When closing, They put allot of upward force on the top side thin metal hood bowing it up each time I closed. The Drakes really look nice, very well made. Much easier to close and latch. Plus they are so much easier to adjust the downward pressure on the hood latch plates.
Good Luck

I was annoyed with the hood flutter on my 21, spent hours adjusting the bump stomps to get it to stop. And by then there was some nasty fender gap. On my 22 it flutters again but tbh I might Just leave it alone.

Throw some pics in here fellas. It's all academic until we can actually see 'em ;)
I agree, take some vids of the hood showing the fluttering you are having. I feel that would allow people who build these hoods, run them at 150mph+ to evaluate for possible causes. Their are so many possible causes like, the rubber adjustment hood stops, the fender side rubber seals to tight or to loose, the front hood latch not adjusted with the proper downward force, the front of the Hood lip/edge being higher than the bumper etc. To thin of hood material etc. But at the end of the day, it's never a good thing. I hope you can mitigate the causes to a level to make it safer or to a level to where you can live with it. Good Luck

I don't see the rubber thingy. Guess I'll have to see the stock hood which arrived today and has been stowed away in my basement in the event I have ever have to go back tstock.

I just picked up an aftermarket gt500 replica hood with fake hood pins.
I already have redline hood struts.. should I go thru and add hood pins as well, or fill in the fake hood pin grooves?

To be fair to Ford, while our Mach 1s are built for track, 150 is pushing the limit. Since my last comment about hood flutter at FPRS, I've not seen it in my own car until over 90 (only when needed to get away from drivers I felt were putting me at risk, of course.) All signs of flutter disappeared as soon as I dropped below 90. And that was in stock configuration at 22k miles on the car, with no hood bumper adjustments, and no hood struts.
