OP, how did you end up making out with the car? Did the dealership tell you what caused the motor to die?

We ended up deciding to allow Ford to completely replace the motor with a new one and give us the extended 100K warranty. They told us we could continue the process through arbitration if we were not happy, but we would not have been able to secure another color combo as ours and we did really want to keep our combo.

They told us we could continue through arbitration if we were not happy, but we would not have been able to secure our color combo and we wanted to stay with that for now, so just stuck with a new engine and extended warranty and our car. They were very kind and easy to work with...
