Hello all just saw a listing for a 2017 black gt350r and it appears the car was bought back from the manufacturer. The vin is 1fatp8jz2h5523819....called Ford Performance and it appears the car had service for low oil and making noise when driven. They did not have the actual reason why the car was bought back. Anyone know any history on this car?

I personally know of a few folks with Rs that are in great condition, not buy-backs, and are of equal cost or lower. I'd pass on it unless there's a specific reason for this particular car.

i was curious as to what caused the buy back and thought maybe a forum member would know.

Well if those are original tires & with that milage they most likely need replaced. Then remember that they shouldn't be out in this kind of temps. Might not even be safe for a test drive??? My way of thinking it would have to be heavily discounted. FWIW.

If you're a serious buyer just ask the dealer for a copy of the service records and Oasis report for the car. It's what I did before I bought mine and discovered it was ran 8qts low and the engine was replaced due to cylinder scoring. After purchase I was able to track down the original owner and his version of the history matched perfectly with the service records the dealer provided. I would have never bought a new one, was looking for a 2012 Boss 302 at the time, but scored a deal on mine that I really could not pass up.

I stumbled upon this car too. Dealer stated the engine was indeed replaced and has the remainder of the 3/36 warranty as well as an additional warranty on the new engine.

There is also an Avalanche Gray 'R' out in MO but I believe it's in the 68 to 69 range. Same story Ford buyback with a new engine. That dealer acted as if he was doing me a favor.
