I have a 2019 GT a10, pp1, lund tune, e85 , cats deleted, 3.55 rear gears. M/T 305/45/17 radial R compound tires. Lund tune from august 2020. What has been the best way to drive this combo? I thought initially Lund said leave it in drive, which so far has produced decent, or best Results.
What tire pressure on the 305 mickeys? Shift mode? Launch stalled?

I run my 2018 with 10R80 transmission, with the gear selector in "S", drag mode, advance traction control off and shift using the paddles.

Leave your Lund tuned car in D.

Use drag mode if you have it. If not, request a tune from Lund with drag mode enabled.

Yes, stall the car up as high as you can. Some even use the e-brake to squeeze out a bit more stall.

regarding tire pressure, experiment and see what works. 17-25psi range is not uncommon.

I'd just leave the car in drive if your Lund tuned and turn off advanced tract. Tire pressure I would start off at around 15 to 16 psi. Have someone watch you at the line (preferably recording your tires when you leave) and add .5 to 1 psi until you can leave without the sidewall wrinkling on the drag radial. That should be your ideal tire pressure and make sure you are checking it between passes cause heat will cause it to fluctuate. With a 3.55 rear gear I would probably suggest leaving in 2nd gear also. You have I more idea starting line ratio, plus you'll be able to stall the car at a higher RPM.

The 305/45 R's on the A10/3.55 combo work best at 16-17psi cold. Footbrake to 1800-2000, and shallow stage as much as possible.

Agreed. I have that exact combo, made 51 passes last season…..all with PSI from 16-18. The only time that PSI didn’t work was when the line-locks would glitch and we wouldn’t get a proper burnout.

Has anyone tried a lower rear gear and launching in 2nd gear? I can push my RPMs up past 2500 using the OEM torque converter and factory 10R80 transmission.

PS: How are you guys getting past the thottle delay? I have a 2/10 delay between 100% thottle pedal and rear axle movement??

3.55/2nd gear leave works best on the 10R80. I wouldn't recommend it with a 3.15 gear unless the car was under 3700lbs race weight with driver. My buds car has no delay from what we have seen. I don't believe he stalls at WOT either though. He gets to 1800-2000 at 70% throttle, and usually only has to hold it for less than 3-4 seconds during stage.

I weigh in at 3600 lbs with driver and 5 gallons of VP X85 racing fuel.
I have gone over my data logs and that delay has been there since day one... even when using drag mode!??
I know several guys who are running the 6R80 in their S197 Mustangs and use some sort of aftermarket drive by wire electronic device, but haven't heard of anyone using one on the S550 Mustang with 10R80...??

It may be in the calibration? Most of the named tuners only tune for Drive. Unless maybe its a MagneRide and drag mode is manipulated also?

I'm using a tuning service I purchased though Jessie Ringley at EMS, and even though I have a life time tune, he (the tuner) gets real nasty when ever I ask him to do anything other than provide his basic service!!

That's nothing I would want anything to deal with. Wow....

Yea, I need to find a new tuner who is willing and albe to work on a track only drag car and possibly a new vendor also!
Jessie Ringley of EMS, is an OK guy, but the last few times I've been at his shop, he hasn't been there. As far as I can tell, his wife (who's a nice person) is running the business with a couple hired hands!
