Proper toe will affect your steering feel quite a bit. Honestly, I wouldn't want to drive on track with a lot of toe-out... Even just driving on the street, the steering felt really loose until I got the toe set back to near-zero. The good news is that it's relatively easy to get the car back to near-zero toe with just a measuring tape and a couple wrenches on the tie rod end and nut.

Correct, but only a tenth of a degree... That’s why I said “near zero” toe. The point is to avoid toe-out on track. Zero toe (or close to it) is fine for 99% of track drivers.

After the install of the plates they aligned the car. I haven't touched anything yet, but it feels different, very floaty almost. Also seems to tramline more.

I dont have the sheet in front of me, but it has numbers for "actual" and "before". If I read it correctly, it had like -.28 toe and now it has -.08 and i can definitely feel a difference. Btw the "range" for toe max was -.15 so it was off to begin with.

Just to follow up here, I was able to set max camber at the track, car felt fine, even better than before.. and then put it back and drove home.. no obvious issues at all!

I am going to assume these are NOT the adjustable struts on my R? Tramlines and pulls all over the road like a team of wild horses btw.

How do these work. Once installed is there a quick way to adjust from track to regular driving?

No the proper way would be to have the car on an alignment rack to switch between track and street driving settings.

welllllll.... depends on you and what tools/skills you have.

You can simply raise the front of the car, loosen the 3 nuts on the strut top and pull/push the strut in/out as you see fit, but it WILL affect toe as you move it, so the answer is more of a maybe.... IMO you need a good camber gauge and toe plates to be sure you aren't doing something that will kill the tires.

I keep this car set for track, but on previous S197 cars it worked out where going from full outboard w/ slight toe in for street, to max inboard for autocross would make the toe out about right for autox. If you're doing track though you want (IMO) more like zero toe so this process may not work as well.

That is why I said the proper way is to use an alignment rack.
