Doesn't moving the wing farther back also lighten the front? With any wing, the rear wheels are sort of a fulcrum of a see-saw.
As others mentioned, it would. It's something you would need to tune across the car. Here's a great video on that:

Anyway, the supercharged V8 in the GTD puts plenty of weight on the front tires. No matter how much lift you get from a rear spoiler at the front tires or how much weight you move to the rear with the transaxle DCT, you're not going to get the GTD to 911 levels of front end lightness.

I mean that's how the trunk on the GTD works. Slides in horizontally from the rear and then latches by the glass using the same "hood pins" as the standard GT500 uses on it's hood.
huh, wait, whut? For reals? I missed that.

Can we please let the GTD wing stay on the GTD and stop copying the newest shiny object like we mustang fans always do? We just look stupid constantly swapping cool things from other models and putting them on all our models, cheapens the brand in an already cheap image Ford shoots for. Kinda like when GT guys put the front end of a GT500 when we all know they can't afford a GT500, so why not just copy all the parts and call it "cool"......Same goes for GTD parts.
Nope, we can't.

Yea the normal taillight panel is no longer solid, but rather a mesh as it houses the cooler for the rear mounted transaxle now. The cooler is fed by two snorkels built into thr gaoe between the rear glass and the trunklid. The car doesn't have a trunk anymore.

lol, Rado is one cool cucumber. I was in the pits on and off from 2004-2012 with the GST Lezburu…and I may or may not have slept with his dogs on the floor of his trackside trailer more than once 😂

However, the MOUNTING and whether the mounts are straight down from the wing or angled forward doesn't matter (other than thick mounts might have more drag, etc.).
There *is* a benefit to having the mount anchored to the top of the wing over the bottom of the wing. Because you get more downforce from the low pressure side (LPS) of the wing than the high pressure side, maximizing the surface area of the LPS while minimizing any turbulence caused by mounting structures and plates will provide higher downforce. Assuming you can balance the front and rear aero, then a top-mounted wing has higher returns, so to speak.

Yes, you are correct. I was talking about the car side of the wing mounting.
