I wonder how many owners would be willing to give up their trunk.

I am sure they will make a kit that makes your trunk slide forward and out or something LOL

I mean that's how the trunk on the GTD works. Slides in horizontally from the rear and then latches by the glass using the same "hood pins" as the standard GT500 uses on it's hood.

No fuel cell in the trunk of the GTD. The trunk housed the transaxle coolers which are fed by the ducts on the trunk lid and exit out the back between thr taillights. Also houses the inboard cantilever suspension that they had to relocate due to the size of the DCT transaxle.



The GT3 car's sequential transaxle is smaller and still utilizes the standard S650 suspension design.

if you want an exact copy i suspect it will be more difficult to retrofit since it mounts to the C pillar.. assuming that the wing makes a noticeable amount of downforce, i would say a more robust mounting system would be required as the supports for the wing create a moment arm, instead of mounting directly below the wing.

Can we please let the GTD wing stay on the GTD and stop copying the newest shiny object like we mustang fans always do? We just look stupid constantly swapping cool things from other models and putting them on all our models, cheapens the brand in an already cheap image Ford shoots for. Kinda like when GT guys put the front end of a GT500 when we all know they can't afford a GT500, so why not just copy all the parts and call it "cool"......Same goes for GTD parts.

Apparently “who will be the first” is Terry from Vorahlag whos doing a similar wing mount on his LS swap lightweight S550 build with a big freakin 9lives wing element. He’ll probably have it done by the weekend.

Second might be AJ Hartman Aero who just posted some CAD style mockups.

I'd want to see aero testing, proving the installation would be worthwhile and not detrimental.

I like that AJ is going to be working on one. He'll back his stuff up with data, unlike some of the other options on the market. Terry absolutely knows what he's doing too. Looking forward to seeing both these projects move forward.

I mean AJ and Nine Lives already know the data on the aerofoil and both offer swan mount wings currently. The only difference is whatever you get from the mounting solution vs a standard mounting solution.
