Thanks .
Do you know if it uses the updated GT350 bare block? -
Also curious about what you did with the Voodoo?

Wanted a more track focused engine. The FP350s race engine has a forged rotating assembly and a light weight valve train enabling it to handle high revs for an extended period of time. It uses the Gen 3 block

That motor is an amazing piece of engineering it seems! Dumb question but how does it sound compared to the Voodoo? I tried listening to those clips but was also just curious about your impression of the sound.

What Iā€™m impressed with is the power that the FP350s race engine has, 485 rwhp with stock exhaust and a conservative tune. Long tube headers should add 10-15 hp. The FP350s race engine runs very strong on track. The 5.2 liter flat plane crank production engine has about 445-450 rwhp and doesnā€˜t develop power until your above 3,500 rpm

The FP350s race engine has a cross plane crank in it. The Voodoo production engine has a flat plane crank. They do sound different. A lot depends on the exhaust system. Iā€™m running cats so the exhaust note is quiet. The car behind me has an FP350s race engine and long tube headers without cats. Itā€™s very loud.

So this FP350s motor has the power come on a lot faster than 3500? Is it street legal? :)

Capaldi Racing/Development replaced my GT350 flat-plane crank production engine with an FP350s crate race engine. The FP350s engine has a cross-plane crank. Installed the following:
  • Ford Performance FP350s race engine
  • Watson Racing solid engine mounts & sealed top oil separator.
  • JLT cold air intake
  • Transmission stiffening bushing
  • Tuned the engine
  • FP350s Setrab 60 row engine oil cooler

Capaldi Racing/Development did a great job of working out the details of the install and tuning!!!
http://www.capaldiracing.com/

First weekend on the track with the SVT Cobra club after breaking the engine in. Ran the Full Throttle Fall Fest South course. The FP350s race engine runs very strong!!!!!

Just curious if you have heard anything. I think my dream mustang would be a 5.2L cpc engine with everything else the GT350 has to offer. Am hopeful a Boss will be coming in the future with that. Do not track so while I love the fpc when it kicks in, that power Is mostly unusable, speed limits being what they are. If no production car is in the offing then does not appear to be a non-racing engine we can plunk into our current cars if our voodoo goes or we decide to make the change which clearly can be done. Have you heard any rumblings of a non-racing cpc 5.2L being contemplated for production?

Closest you're going to get anytime soon is a Mach 1.

I'd put 4.09s (or 4.56s) in your existing car and enjoy...

5.2 Aluminator - been around for years. Take off/sell the CJ intake and throttle body and its the same as the Voodoo other than rods pistons and crank. The cams are for a CPC crank but otherwise identical to Voodoo cams. Even the "race engines" are basicly the same.

So do these motors give you more power sooner than a voodoo? Why is it the voodoo is sort of weak until 3500 to 4000 RRM, was thst for fleet gas mileage? Can a tuner get rid of the sluggish (2-3500) response, or those pedal plug ins (like a throttle booster)?

CPC fires every 90* while FPC fires every 180* so a CPC has more torque down low, but the CPC weighs more (in this case 4-5lbs. more) so it revs slower.
