And if you had a portable air compressor it wouldn't have been an issue at all
Hello; This was in 2001. I do not know if those things were as common back then. I also had a temp spare.

I'm risking it all by typing this but I've always had good luck with tires. Replaced them early and never let them get super bald and never really any flats. Was driving the wife's Honda a year or 2 ago and felt/heard the bolt in the tire. While waiting (long wait) at a big named tire shop, I called and found a little corner shop. Pulled up and stood next to the car as they plugged it and when I got home, I ordered the plug kit. I've only used it once and it was super easy. Was another puncture in her tire haha!

lol, I was exactly the same...until I hit a pothole in the middle of the interstate at 3am about two years ago.

was heading home after a contract job, so I was ~220 miles away and that pothole blew the sidewall completely out...no plug kit in the world woulda fixed that.

fortunately...this was in a previous car (focus RS) and it had a spare, but I decided then and there I would never run without one again.

This for sure! I was worried but now I have a little "kit" I put together for a little money.

Battery air compressor that looks like a screw gun and can also run off the outlet in the car.

Tire plug kit.

Power bank to jump if needed. Mostly for other people so I don't have to tell them they can't hook cables to my car.

There's already a compressor and foam fill kit in the car.

the best road-side tire plug solution known to man.
The previous link shows a gun thing though. Not in the video. I can see how the mushroom plugs may work better but that video made it seem like a longer process. Haven’t even seen these though so obviously guessing lol

there's 2 kits, one with gun, one with screw-ram. the gun is as big as your hand and faster to use but you need some decent hand strength. Strictly speaking the sticky-string kits are cheaper but unreliable. it's not uncommon for the strings to not seal right or to work loose and pull out.

I've used the mushroom kits for years.

The lack of a Ford spare tire kit for Brembo equipped cars has been a known issue since 2015. The Mach 1 is no different than a PP equipped GT. There is one basically one solution and Doug mentioned it in post #23. It's not cheap (but neither was your Mach 1), but on a rainy cold night on a dark two lane you are going to be very, very glad you bought it.

So no bitching, no complaining and no arguing. Just go buy it and be done. :giggle: :like:
