Mach 1 Spare Tire

AAA left me past 5 hours, outside Knoxville 3am.
I made other arriagmnets and left, never heard from them. Put in a complaint and "sorry" was it.
First and last year with them.
A spare is cheap insurance even at $400 IMO.

Would a PP1 wheel, either front or rear, work as a spare ? I’m in the UK so the official Ford option isn’t available and the AA spare is £615. Individual PP1 wheels on the other hand are readily available on EBay.

The front one would, in the rear it would just poke out bit more. But pretty sure you won't fit it in the trunk below the floor. There's a reason why the spare has 135/70 R19 tyre.


In Europe you have another option, Czech company eXtradeon s.r.o. makes spare wheel for FORD MUSTANG VI R19 5x114,3x70,2 that will fit big Brembo brakes (as we don't get any other variant here). It has 125/70R19 tyre and fits in the trunk. It's not alu wheel but steel, weight is lower than of the AA. Pretty cheap for 250 €.

We have CZ->UK forwarder company too, same I use for USA->CZ. They can handle anything and arrange Fedex, DHL etc. so that's not an issue too if eXtradeon couldn't make it themselves.

There is a supplier for a similar wheel in the UK - haven't bought one yet but i did email them to confirm they clear the Brembo's

There is a cheaper alternative. The link below is what I used. Another member posted what he did and I just did a writeup of what it cost me and where I sourced my wheel. At the time I did mine, it was less than half the cost of the AA unit.

I just ordered the spare with jack from AA. It didn't look like it came with any trunk mounting hardware. How did you secure in your trunk?

Use the stuff that came with the factory air pump

The bolt that holds the air pump is all you need.

You need the nut and washer thing too. I was able to arrange it so the pump, jack and wrench (I bought the whole kit) so they'd fit underneath the spare, minus the stock foam piece. I used a couple towels and a fender pad, to to keep things from rubbing, and moving around.
