Give the parts farm, or other mustang salvage yard a call. They should be able to get you out a 15-17 trim piece cheaply, and quickly. Just let them know the difference in years so they don't just run out and grab one off the closest s550.

No I didn't check for that when I was searching. Tons of cars have the same issue though for carplay/ android auto .. if you do a broad Google search for disconnects with the cable you need, prob come up with something good.

It's very picky with cables. After a lot of searching this cable was recommended over and over again. https://a.co/iu9rFFu Works, havnt had a single disconnect in over a year since...plugged into center console.

The only thing I'll add is the potential bumper clips broken where the splitter was damaged. Replacing the splitter is easy enough, but If the actual bumper slots are cracked that's a different issue. You'll be able to tell within reason by applying downward pressure to the broken splitter...

It has something to do to with the rearview cam harness. I keep getting letters every few months that the replacement parts are still on backorder. If your effected, Ford will need access to that area, and with the VR wing you'll have a lot of stuff going on there. And don't forget to ask...

You can search voodoo reliability, and read 100s of posts on the the subject. That said...buy an extended powertrain warranty regardless of year. if your motor goes, no matter the year, it will be replaced with a v2 if needed. Assuming you don't want a year specific color I'd get a 19+.
