Not totally surprising at 12.5 psi boost and 20 deg timing. FYI it appears as most of the gen vi (and 2024) magic is actually coming from higher timing and boost.

crossing my fingers that they do a video where all they swap is the headunit and go from gen 5 to gen 6 whipple

But keep the boost and TB the same if possible

The throttle body on the gen 6 VMP is a round one. It's basically a Whipple gen 6 with a round larger throttle body. They teamed up with Whipple. The only one available is currently the stage 3 kit with the larger round tb. They said that down the road they will release stage 1 and 2 with smaller or factory tb.

Roughly 2 months ago I finished installing the VMP Odin kit. Plus the ice tank. Only other mod is an X pipe. Just had it dyno tested to verify the output. Running the 91 octane tune from VMP, the pulley they ship with the kit which is a 3.5 in. and 92 octane super with no additives it made 712 HP and 551 Tq. I believe it 11-12 psi with the base pulley. I am not so sure the whipple is making "more" power. It doesn't seem apples to apples.

I’d like to see this too. If you look at Whipple’s website, it’s been updated and shows the gen6 now for 2015+ cars. It still lists the 132mm oval throttle body and not the 112mm round throttle body that VMP is using on the gen6. I wonder if there is really an advantage of one over the other?

Based on my mass air consumption on data logging, I was at around 780whp on the stock engine, Gen5 3.0 Whipple stage2 on 93 octane. My tune is a little spicier than most, as @engineermike can attest.

What formula are you using and what data point? lb air/min?

Yes, lb/air per minute. It's not a direct correlation, but it's a pretty decent guestimate of 10hp per lb/air per minute. I have seen some very close correlations using that formula. It all comes down to trap speed anyway. Dyno's are so subjective. Operator input, which brand, SAE corrected/not, etc.

According to the video that VMP put out the round tb is supposed to be easier to tune.

Looks about right for 13psi boost and 20* timing.

Whats the difference between my gen 5 whipple stage 2 with the gen 6 rotor pack and the gen 6 stage 2?

That's the $64,000 question. It has been postulated that not much is different at all.

I know they said that, but I’m not sure if I believe it. Iā€˜m not aware of any tuning issues on the 132mm that Whipple has been using for years.

The gen6 kits on the 2024 mustang also use the same 112mm throttle body that VMP is using. I wonder if it’s a misprint on whipple’s website?
