Believe it or not, but, BMWs and mustangs can and do get cross shopped. They also have a really big aftermarket and can make big power easily, oh, and they can easily be tuned like a S550. Discounting it being faster because it's "Its a BMW" is silly.
And it's still a BMW, not a V8 Mustang. You being here on a Mustang forum talking up BMWs is just silly. Go buy a BMW and go to their forum

Here's how to be just as annoying as the BMW kid.
Probably not safe for work.

Talking them up? Or stating facts? I guess I could lie and say he'd win. You're kinda pathetic really.

That may be the case in the US, but not here in Germany...
I wouldn't buy a BMW, too many negative stereotypes.

The coyote platform is good but the G80 M cars are extremely capable. I’d be betting on the M car here.

Just tell him my favorite BMW joke…. What’s the difference between a BMW and an elephant? On an elephant the asshole’s on the outside.
One of my best friends drives a modded 340i and we are competitive with having a faster car than the other in a friendly way. Im currently in the lead since I got my headers and e85. The reason I feel that I might have a chance against the M3 is my buddies 340i makes around 470whp and I'm a decent margin ahead in races. His is rwd though not xdrive so that's where the uncertainty comes. but other than him I know many BMW assholes.

Does your friend have a 1/4 mile slip or draggy run for his 340i or does he just think it's "as fast as an M3"

What year 340i is it and what mods? Is it an automatic or stick? Because if you're beating one with a tune+exhaust something is seriously wrong.

the straight-six shoved the 3827-pound M340i to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds at 115 mph.

Also, there's a big difference between the B58 and S58 (M series)

2016 340i auto intake downpipe e40 and trans tune. previous owner said it made between 470 and 480whp depending on the time of year and temp. he doesn't have a draggy yet and has never had it at a strip. and he doesn't think its as fast as an m3 I'm saying I beat him by a decent bit which makes me think compared to a stock m3 it might at least be close.

2016, that explains a lot. Totally different than a current 340i much less an M

that's like someone beating a 2010 Mustang and thinking they can beat a 2018

I'm sitting here reading this and chuckling, thinking back to the absolute pieces of shit I drove back when I was in college....
