I'm sitting here reading this and chuckling, thinking back to the absolute pieces of shit I drove back when I was in college....
Everyone's heard the story about the Arab/Chinese students who are going to school here, their parents give them money to buy a brand new <insert car here> in cash each year.

I moved on to a G87 M2 it dyno'd at 473rwhp at EAS in Anaheim. My car is bone stock and I feel it would have manhadled my 2020 Mustang GT with 444rwhp. The G87 is rated at 453hp, my ass.

Believe it or not, but, BMWs and mustangs can and do get cross shopped. They also have a really big aftermarket and can make big power easily, oh, and they can easily be tuned like a S550. Discounting it being faster because it's "Its a BMW" is silly.

I had an S650 on order...went with the G87. Glad I did...love this thing.

Turbos are a cheat code lol
I wish I never sold mine...they are also going up in value.
Yeah, they're so much work to maintain though. Especially since most will need every suspension bushing replaced by now unless you buy a super low mileage one. Plus aluseal issues, rod bearings, maim bearings....not all have those issues but many have lol

The guy I sold my E92 M3 to put almost 30k miles on her in less than a year!! I sold it to him with 38k miles on her. At 68K miles he had the rod bearings done, it cost $2200. They were fine they didn't need to be changed. You just don't know though.

The M cars are nice, but everytime i see a few of them meet up, the parking lot looks like this afterwards....

I honestly have no idea where this rep comes from, we've had multiple BMW's in the family over the years and none have dripped oil (if I recall correctly, I sold one of mine with 180k ish on the clock).

We currently have 1 x M car, 3 x 'normal' BMW's, 2 x Kia's, 1 x stang and 1 x Porsche.

Only the P car has an oil leak.

My brothers M car has 'just' started to get a damp seal on the diff, at 87k (I think) - how many 550's have had their diff seals done (or needed them done) by that time ... ?

It comes with the territory... lol. i've had a few friends with major oil issues and my buddy is always complaining at his shop with them. But it's the same stigma that you have to own a vape to drive a Subaru

A cocky rich kid at my university shows up with his daddys m3 comp xdrive once a week or so acting like its his and talks trash to every guy he sees about how "his car" is faster and better than everyone else's. He started talking trash on my 19 gt a10 with an intake, catless headers, catback, e85, and 305 ps4s about how its slow and "his" m3 is better and faster. Im wondering if around 475whp is enough to beat a fully stock m3 comp xdrive in a 60-130 for educational purposes.
No. G80 m3's have an insanely good launch control.

My KB s550 went against a G80 m3 comp. Pretty even Stevens. Both on dig and 50mph to 155mph. Mind you it's on a carb approved tune so plenty of potential on the table but the A10 isn't making up the difference.

xDrive is worse on the top end than a rwd m3 due to extra weight and drive train losses.

Please stop...my 2020 Mustang GT within the first year was in the shop having its plastic oil pan replaced not once but twice. Not to mention the 3 recalls that the car had and the bad 02 sensors. Also, BMW M cars are very stout. The S58 engine is a beast and is very robust.
