I realize this is an old post, but I have a question. I have a 2020 ecoboost with the OEM two-piston front brakes. Shelby American sells GT rotors and calipers as brand-new take-offs. Is the master cylinder on the ecoboost 2-pot brakes the same as the Master cylinder from the GT 4-pot brakes?
The master cylinder is shared between the Shelby GT350, the GT, and the EB. There is another specific to the Performance Pack GT, and then of each, there are two versions, one with two nipples (auto), and one with three (manual).

v6 base had excellent brakes
Gt PP brakes rock at highway speeds, but about town are no better than the v6's ... ie great, but not more bite, and you'd never know they were diferent

tried going the cheap route before with jobber rotors and pads. sucked majorly and had to go OEM to get good braking again $$$ plus wasted $
tough choice what pad to get, as some make more dust, and your wheels are a mess.
OEM try to reduce that for customer satisfaction ... and oem mustang pads so far have given good service in terms of life and performance, and low dust

want more bite, or do track days, then look at performance pads.

V6 and eb have same 2 pots. They aren't as good as brembo 6 pot with ferodo or power stop z23 pads. I drive them back to back. They are not crap by any stretch, but they aren't great either. Grabby brakes are shit brakes.

Title says it all. Stock EB non-PP brakes are garbage. I have 30k on them, full fluid, semi-acceptable pedal solidity, squeaking and approximately 15% pad wear left. I've read that they're garbage and sure, my car was a rental beforehand so it was probably abused, but (projecting) 35k out of front pads? That seems very low. Local dealer has a good offer for pads and machine rotors, worth it to use OEM again?
It's a 1-2 hour/~$125 job on your own. If you're using a dealer, you'll be on OE parts, which is fine, but you'll pay for it. Machining the discs is unacceptable if you're already complaining about the brakes. Put on new.

And, ya, if you drive 1 1/2 times around the planet, you might need to put brakes on your car.

four pot brembo caliper, i would go with Performance friction pads 1001.11, great for fast road, trackdays.
6 pot would go with 1792.10 again good for fast road and trackdays, no noise and no dust deposits.

You could buy some take off base GT units and swap those on.
as long as you dont want to do any HPDE, I agree. I just did my first track day a week ago, base '21 GT and totally cooked the front brakes. Smoke pouring out after 2 sessions on the track. Major fade, almost boiled the fluid.

First of all, there's no "four pot brembo caliper", at least not OEM and not S550 specific. Second, it is not at all great for track days.

And whoever is paying $1000 for 4 piston calipers or $1800 for 6 piston calipers is getting hosed. I did an entire GT350 front end setup (including some optional parts) for under $1000. The 4 piston stuff you can do for under $500.

2 piece rotors really help out here.

Not great for a track GT, but much better than what the EB came with.
