Great build thread! How much did the Gen 2 Coyote cost ya?

What's the current underpinnings of the coupe - suspension already done, 4-wheel discs?

Got the engine from a friend. Car currently has through the floor subframes, drag suspension with solid anti roll bar, 13in 6 piston Wildwoods up front with 94-04 gt disc in rear.

I like to disassemble things.
Sad to see the OHV engine go! My own project is taking forever!

AJE kmember and motor mounts arrived and installed. I like the idea of the AJE as the kmember is a singular unit and they make various engine mounts for different engines. Other companies use different welded pads that use specific engine mounts on the market. AJE appears to be MIG welded vs the TeamZ unit that was TIG welded. Lots of welding spatter that was powder coated over, so thats kind of a bummer. I will over look that if the engine and header fit is good, we shall see....

The plan is to acquire the remaining drivetrain components such as flywheel, clutch and bell housing. Then onto the engine!

Quicktime SFI bell housing, Ram alum flywheel and clutch (top secret) is onsite!!!!! The TKX trans is a direct fit for the TKO500 it is replacing. So the Stifflers trans cross member and Ford Racing alum DS will be retained.

The bad news...

The exact condition of this engine was unknown upon purchase. It was said it was pushing some coolant under boost. The plan was pull heads and have them freshened up, install head studs and head gaskets and away we go. Not this time. Lots of coolant in multiple cylinders. Coolant sat in cylinders for a while. 2 cylinders had major wear. Im sure the block is fine for someone to sleeve. Rotating assembly is going in the trash. I pretty much need a shortblock..

The good news...

While i absolutely did not plan on building an engine, that must be done unless i want my car turned into a garage ornament. This is totally outside of the budget and is a giant pain in the ass. Various parts are difficult to get as we all have seen. Ive been lucky to grab swap items such as the headers and control pack. Engine parts have to be acquired now.... And that's exactly what happened.

So i pulled the heads off of the engine and found what i outlined in the previous post. Took heads to machine shop to get a valve job and milled. Explained my short block need and shop owner says "well i got some coyote stuff right here". 2011 block (12mm head studs) and new in box Diamond +5cc pistons with coated skirts, pins and rings (.010). Perfect! Bought all that and ordered a Boss crank, Manley rods with arp2000 bolts, ARP main and head studs. By my calcs, looks like 12:1 CR. Dropped everything off at machine shop today and should have the shortblock and heads back around end of next week. Then we start on assembly. In the meantime, ill start the control pack layout.
