Was there any written correspondence and if so did your dealer share that with you? I'm just curious as to the wording anyone from Ford Performance may have used in this case.
the communication was between the dealer SM and FP. The SM then called me and told me the engine needed replacement per FP. That's it. I wish I could get more but this not being my first rodeo I know I will get nothing in terms of info.

Harold, as a fellow owner and enthusiast I wish you the best, because simply there is no other rational behavior. Nobody deserves to buy a new vehicle and have these types of quality landmines or bad luck. I would be stressed out too. whichever course of action you take I hope to see a positive thread from you in the future after all of this. I know a couple folks just walked away from the platform. Hopefully you can find a way to regain confidence in your ride / investment.

To the handful of folks that repeatedly made every tech pack thread a mess, you have no room to complain.

So you admit that you're a troll...
You're so one-track-minded - I don't even want to waste my time anymore. Mission accomplished for you guys, I guess. The problem for you is everyone is getting sick of you derailing threads and crying constantly to the point where I don't really care what Ford does for you, if anything. I guess if you cry and bitch enough, maybe you can get your way? Good job?

And yes, AGAIN, for the thick-headed. It has to do with everyone. If people read the one part of the AVAILABLE literature and ignore the rest, then go on to sue Ford over it - you don't think that's going to factor into future offerings? Of course you don't, because you want to have your little pitty party all by yourself and don't want anyone that disagrees with you to speak. God, I'd hate to talk to you in person.

Just my Luck!!! I sold my 350 about two weeks ago in part because of the cracked block, because Ford did not offer to repurchase my vehicle. But! Mainly because of an incredible deal I found on a 16 AG R in FL. I needed the equity to finalize the deal on the R which I pick up Saturday the 17th. Just before I decided to dispose of my 350 I filled a claim with the BBB contesting Ford. I have yet to advise them that I sold my car because I wanted to see how this all played out. Yesterday the BBB rep wrote me that Ford offered to replace the engine and needed to know if i accepted the offer. If I did not, an arbitration date was set. I later get a phone call with the date, time and location of the hearing. Today I get notification that Ford has offered to buy my car BACK!!! WTF MATE! But I digress. I have moved on and soon will have an R in my driveway. Moral of the story? If you meet the criteria for your state's lemon laws, file a claim immediately with the BBB. You do not necessarily need an attorney, I did not use one. The process is rather lengthy. So unless you need the the money urgently, be steadfast and have patience. The process works but you have to see it through.
lemers, guess the cracked block is detrimental to performance

That whole post and the only time you refer to performance is when addressing me?

Ford offering a buy back to avoid arbitration is not an admission of guilt. It was a buisness dicision, not a warranty decision.

I don't think you're reading the situation correctly.

I dont understand what were you guys expecting? You are buying the cheapest automobile brand for this type of vehicle. Its cheapest for a reason. "Best bang for the buck".... well its best bang for the buck for a reason.

I mean no disrespect here, none at all, but I ask every owner of this car to go to youtube and watch the assembly process of a ford mustang or better yet chevy Z06 (which costs 3 times as much as base mustang and for the purposes of this comparison all mustangs are built by same people be it the 30k one and 60k one)....

Then, go ahead and watch how BMW is built (there was a recent video on the new G series actually, its 3 videos) or better yet, take a look at how 911s are built in stuttgart. The difference is night and day guys. Simply put, its a different level of quality all together.

For instance BMW uses a special laser based 3D technology to scan their cars at a "micron" level to make sure panel gaps and other body panels are consistent. MICRONS! They spent supposedly 9 figures (around 150 million) in their new manufacturing process. And where is ford with that?

How much do the union workers get paid working for Ford and what qualifications/educational background is required for such work? Same questions for bmw and porsche.

You buy a car like this and you have to accept all of these facts and come to terms with it.

I can agree that some cars are built with more fit and finish in mind and Mustang generally is not that car. I don't understand how any of that relates to the original concern here. Are you saying that a cracked block is OK just because the car doesn't cost $150k? I'd say that it's unacceptable even in a $20k car.

Thats not what I m saying. Its not okay for the cracked block to be there.

What I am saying is, buying a car like this at this price point people should accept the reality that this may happen and when it does the process might be very painful. Ford isnt BMW or Porsche. They are not going just pull the red carpet for you when something like this happens. They dont care. They dont make money from this car (in a way that impacts their bottom line). They know they are not a prestigious brand and that 90% of their income comes from cars like F150 and explorer. The market for those cars are very different. In contrast, BMW and Porsche have a lot to lose because prestige is part of their brand. Thats one of the reasons people buy them.

Whats happening in this forum a lot with people complaining about blown engines or bad user manual for not explaining oil levels or bad gap alignments is like you or I going and buying from walmart instead of apple and expect apple store treatment in customer returns in walmart. Or when you need to buy something, call it X, you have two choices in amazon. One is some unknown chinese storefront whose rep cannot speak proper english but cost is $50 vs a made in usa known brand that costs 3x as much. You have two choices here, I might buy the $50 but I very well know if something goes wrong the entire experience of returning will be a nightmare dealing with these people.

The problem is twofold here:

- Some people here are just stretching their budget to afford this car. For them its $60,000 and they saved years for this. So they expect the world to be delivered. Oh wow its a brand new car. Reality is its ford.

- And then the complete opposite spectrum of people who are porsche and bmw owners but they got this car for its engine and sound and expect porsche treatment here.

Both are equally wrong.

Accept it for what it is and that includes from the quality of the engine to the build process to service and buyback, its a ford. Its probably the lowest of all the brands as far as these things I listed above go. Yes its not cool, yes it shouldnt happen but we all knew this from the beginning.
