Well--
I took the video provided to the Ford dealer today. I had a meeting with the chief of maintenance and the shop foreman. They were a bit surprised at the easy demonstrated in the changing of the pads.
We agreed to 1.4 hours total for a dollar layout of $294. That may sound expensive, but it is a long way from the original quote of $840.

For those of us who are 77 years old, this seems like a bargain to me.

Thank you for all of the input.
Be safe out there.

Child's play. Try getting a seawall built in FL. What used to be $150k is now the price of a new Ford GT.

Get your hands dirty and do it yourself. It's not hard work.

Then pay the prices for a car like this.

When I am 77, I hope I can still do a brake job. Thank you @Epiphany and the caliperfexion studs to make that possibility just that.

I was blown away when my local Ford dealer quoted me three hours to replace the front brake pads (2017 Shelby GT350) and one hour to replace the rear pads. (Pads only---) At $210/hour the labor only was $840!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is the Ford flat labor (I'm old--it is probably called something else these days) rate for front and rear pads?
I have the Power Stops in hand.

Thank you in advance.
Bob
they don't call em stealerships for nothin.

dealerships are generally filled with poor quality and vile business practices.

as others have said the biggest reason i don't want anyone else touching my car is because I just don't trust strangers to give a shit as much as I do. so if its within my capabilities i'm gonna do it if i have time.

How many miles did you get out of them?

i just wanted to get rid of the stock pads. The car has about 7,000 miles on it.

For those of you who are commenting on--
Do it yourself--
I could go into my health problems of the last six months.
I won't.
Let's just say that I am happy to be alive.

Be safe out there.

Back in the days of old, when Caliperfexion studs were still but a dream, there was a magical tool that made changing GT350 front pads pretty easy.

Bolts M14x2x180 - Brake Tools.jpg

They're 180 mm long M14x2 cap screws and they screw into the knuckle where the caliper bolts go. And, the best part is, they're 'way longer than the caliper bolts.

To use them, you remove one caliper bolt, screw in one of these guys about an inch, remove the other caliper bolt and screw in the second one. Then, as easy as can be, you slide the caliper out to the end of the bolts, change the pads, slide the caliper back into place and swap the factory bolts back in.

Brain dead simple.
Brilliant. Just did the fronts on mine and was somewhat surprised over the necessity to pull the studs just to replace pads. Gooned one of the calipers as it swung into the rotor  and this will prohibit that from ever happening again...

A bunch
Question, if just doing pads, do I need to remove the calipers?
Unfortunately yes for the fronts. A cross brace prevents you from pulling the pads out of the back of the caliper. The rear calipers can stay in place for pad removal.
