I am getting my 21 GT road trip/show ready, i do have multiple rock chips in my hood and bumper that i would like to fix before getting PPF installed.

what is the right way to go about fixing these rock chips before PPF?

what businesses are best at repairing rock chips?
(i purchased a paint matched touch up kit but would rather a pro do it honestly)

thanks in advance

Rapid Red is tough with that. I recently tried it before doing PPF over the spots. If it was white or black it would be a lot easier.

If you do it yourself, put the touch up paint on in layers because one coat will be translucent. It's something about the metallic tinted clear coat. It's tough to match even with the Ford touch up paint.

If you can get the paint to lay on smooth, the PPF will hide a lot. You'd be amazed at how well it hides flaws.

And of course wait for it to completely cure. Not sure what that time is but it's at least a day or so. Obviously a professional body shop is the way to go...but that's $$$

The PPF installer can or will try to touch it up for you. They will definitely have a shop to recommend if they think it's more than they can handle.

I do my PPF and touch up myself. Sounds like you're outsourcing it all. They will handle the chips if you ask them.
