Did my first change at 75 miles then again at around 2000. Used 5w-20 MC Syn Blend and MC filter. My 3rd change was just done at about 8700 miles with 5w-20 Castrol Edge Full Syn and Royal Purple Filter.

I changed my oil at 5 miles and uses Pensoil 5w-20 full synth/Purolator filter then again at 75 miles Mobil one Full synth/ Fram filter. At 150 miles I did another oil change with Castrol Synth/ K&n filter.... now I'm at 300 miles sitting at the gas station for my first fill up getting ready to do my 4th oil change later today. Which oil and filter do you guys think I should get this time around? I don't like to waste money so any suggestions are welcome.

Pretty sure he is being factious and mocking people that change too early too often. I would tend to agree. I knew he was kidding when I saw Fram filter. I do not know anyone that changes their own oil that uses Fram. I have heard their top filter is quality construction but no plans to use it. My dealer provides six free oil changes with new purchases so I will likely use them all and go a little earlier than if I was changing myself. Planning for the first around 3k miles.

First was done at 1000. Mobile 1, Motorcraft filter. Will do no more than 5k on each change.
.

Must be nice to be rich. You are just throwing money away. The 3 month 3,000 myth was busted years ago.

I follow the oil change meter in the car. Works out to be 10,000 miles.

Been doing that since the late 90's, have used Mobil 1 since 1992. Never have i had an engine oil issue.

The oil still looked decent in my ecoboost after 5k miles. I plan on staying near that mark just because I drive my car pretty hard and it's hot as heck in Texas. The ecoboost takes under 6 quarts and I will likely use semi synthetic so the cost is about $25. Cheap insurance and piece of mind.

While I have a '14, not a '15, oil change discussion still applies,

I do it every 5,000km, or every two track (road course) lapping days. I use and love Royal Purple.
