Stock fluid is the 5w-20 synthetic blend not full synthetic

I changed my oil at ~1000 miles, Amsoil signature series 5w-20. Car has an oil cooler so I see no reason to run 5w-30 on a 15 unless your at a track day
I agree, but my car gets needs it. I promise you.

First Oil change is today, had the car for 7 months, only has 1030 miles but I've heard that its best to change to oil around 1000 miles. My Ford dealer is doing it this round, the first service is free, can't beat that.

The GT PP vehicles come with full synthetic. Just had my first oil change at 5k and that's what I was told was in the car and that's what they put back in it. 80 bucks at the dealer. Didn't like the experience there as I observed 2 techs. drive off in my car and put 8 miles on it checking the steering wheel.
And may I ask, how in the world are they supposed to make real world repairs/checks without driving it? Unless it was cosmetic? Sitting in a garage and turning the wheel won't do the same thing as road vibration and pot holes will do.
Reminds me of when I was in the bodyshop business. A bodyman was working on a dent in a quarter panel with his hammer and dolly when the little old lady came by to get something out of her car she forgot. She attacked the bodyman with her purse for beating on her car with a hammer!

First was done at 1000. Mobile 1, Motorcraft filter. Will do no more than 5k on each change.
second change will have an oil analysis and filter separate analysis done. Doesn't cost me anything and I'm currious about the filter.

Got it done.... Right at 4k miles and computer says 68%. It was black and about 1.5qt low. Went smooth, next time I will remove the entire plastic cover underneath, makes for easier cleaning. Went with Mobile one full synthetic and mobile one filter.
Thanks for all the input!

Had the dealer put in Motorcraft FULL synthetic at 2500 miles. Wanted them to do my first oil change. I'll probably keep going back.

I hit 1184 miles today, and am about to do my 3rd oil change. First change was at 289 miles, I went to Pennz Ultra 5w30 with FRPP Filter.

Currently the car has FRPP Oil Filter and Castrol 10w40 dino oil in it for break in (put a new motor in the car 300 miles ago).

I am putting Amsoil 0w40 and Amsoil Oil Filter in it next week.

I had the engine built so I can turn up the boost and spray some nitrous on top.

First oil change was at 3500 then went again at 7500 and did mobile 1 full synthetic. Probably change oil to Royal Purple.

I can't remember if it was you that mentioned it or not, but I remember someone mentioning they rebuilt the engine with a little bit looser tolerances than OEM??

I swapped my original filter out at about 1500 miles, then I did a full oil change including filter at about 5k. Then changed just over 9k at the dealer since I was getting work done and it was pretty inexpensive. I will probably continue to change it every 4k miles due to the heat and the way I drive. Not sure when I'll switch over to synthetic, probably whenever I do my first track day. I will also up it to 5w30 around that time too, I do want to do an oil analysis after this change though.

My first oil change was done at 997 miles. Went with Motorcraft 5W-20 full synthetic and Motorcraft filter and was changed at the local Ford dealer.

Changed the oil again 4300 miles or 7 months later. Switched over to Pennzoil ultimate platinum 0W-40 full synthetic . The local Dodge dealership did the oil change. I buy them in groups of 4 for $245 including tax, etc. Works out to $61.25 for each oil change. I cannot even buy 8qts of oil and the filter for that price. Too good of deal to pass up. The Dodge service guys love my S550 and take great care of me. Win, win situation for me as I do 2 oil changes each year. June and December.

I think these guys are talking more along the lines of factory stuff.
On a side note I run & build BBCs drag engines,we run the motor w cheap brand name 20/50 and after about 3 passes at the track w do an oil change and cut the filter If all goes well I switch to BradPenn 20/50 and change it every 15 runs or so.. based on my calculations I do an oil change after 3 8th mile passes :) I plan on changing my new GTs oil this weekend ,it will have 1000 miles on it. :ninja:
