I just picked up a F-150 manifold (thanks Allan), I will be putting the car away for the winter soon. I was thinking of sending it out to Air Flow Solutions (Bret Barber) to have it ported. Has anyone done this with the F-150 manifold?

I am just putting this out there selling my 2016 F150 intake manifold modified engine cover
and C&L cold air can be used with or without a tune.

Sorry for the late response. So much stuff going on lately. After installing the manifold, I replaced the OPG and crank timing sprocket and soon after that the engine developed a chirping noise from the front of the engine. I spent the better part of the last three months looking for the noise and finally got it all sorted out. I'll start another post with the details.

But anyway, having driven the car for several months now, I can say it's an awesome mod for a street driven car. Probably not what you'd want on a race car. The car is scheduled to hit the rollers on Thurs., so we'll have some more numbers to add to the pot. My butt dyno says it was a good investment. I'll post up the numbers when I get them.

dbranger94,
Very interested in your average Hp/Torque numbers between 2500-6800 on this setup. What gear ratio are you running?

It's a 3.15:1, 6R80 car. So, I figure I'll do a 4th gear pull. Should be close to a 3.55:1 manual car (1.14 x 3.15 = 3.59:1 final).

It does show that it flows alot less air than even the stock intake though.

Should the intake not be flowing it's max flow @ where it's making peak hp?

The stock intakes reach peak flow around 6600 rpm which is also where the peak hp is, then the flow falls off after that even if you rev it out to 7500.

The truck intake makes peak hp lower than the stock intake, the fact your flowing more air even after you pass the peak hp point of that intake seems weird to me. Still climbing even past 7k.

Anyone else think that's odd?

I just want to know for my own curiousity, not hating on your choice of intake or anything.
An engine is, at its heart, just an air pump. The faster it spins, the more air it takes in per unit time...

dbranger94,
Is there any update on hitting the rollers?

Yeah, it only made 390 HP, but it made a surprising 387 FT-LB. I'll post the dyno graphs in a bit.

The first two pulls were done in 5th gear, one of which had some issues. The dyno started flaking out at 180MPH on both pulls. The final pull was in 4th, but it didn't make much difference in HP or TQ. It looks like the truck manifold still makes descent power out to 7K though.

So about a 17 hp loss after 6 k. That 3500 rpm TQ kick is what I sense as well. Wonder if a tune could flatten out that 4250 TQ valley.

Not sure, but I suspect it's a characteristic of the manifold. All the dyno graphs I've seen of the truck manifold show the same dip.

Would like to see a ported truck manifold tested. The increase in torque with a stock truck manifold is crazy.
